Unexpected inverse relationship between impaired glucose metabolism and lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 activity in patients with stable vascular disease.
Otto Mayer,Jitka Seidlerová,Jan Filipovský,Katarína Timoracká,Jan Bruthans,Jan Bruthans,Jiří Vaněk,Lenka Černá,Peter Wohlfahrt,Cífková Renata,Ladislav Trefil +10 more
TL;DR: In patients with stable atherovascular disease, presence of inadequately controlled diabetes mellitus was independently associated with lower risk of elevated aLp-PLA2, and this study cannot confirm any additive risk of impaired glucose metabolism in terms of increased activity of Lp- PLA2.

The predictive potential of asymptomatic mild elevation of cardiac troponin I on mortality risk of stable patients with vascular disease.
Otto Mayer,Jitka Seidlerová,Jan Bruthans,Jan Bruthans,Jiří Vaněk,Lenka Černá,Peter Wohlfahrt,Jan Filipovský,Renata Cifkova,Jindra Windrichova,Ondřej Topolčan +10 more
TL;DR: It is cannot confirm the utility of asymptomatic mild cTnI elevation as a tool to detect residual risk of stable patients with vascular disease, but BNP seems to be more appropriate for this purpose.

Desphospho-uncarboxylated matrix Gla-protein is associated with mortality risk in patients with chronic stable vascular disease
Otto Mayer,Jitka Seidlerová,Jan Bruthans,Jan Filipovský,Katarína Timoracká,Jiří Vaněk,Lenka Černá,Peter Wohlfahrt,Renata Cifkova,Elke Theuwissen,Cees Vermeer +10 more
TL;DR: In patients with overt vascular disease, circulating dp-ucMGP and d p-cMGP were independently associated with the risk of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality.
