CholecTriplet2022: Show me a tool and tell me the triplet - an endoscopic vision challenge for surgical action triplet detection
Chinedu Innocent Nwoye,Tong Yu,Saurav Sharma,Aditya Murali,Deepak Alapatt,Kun Yuan,Jonas Hajek,Wolfgang Reiter,Xiaoyang Zou,Bruno Oliveira,Helena R. Torres,Felix Holm,Ege Özsoy,Sista Raviteja,Rachana Sathish,Pranav Poudel,Guo Rui,Tobias Czempiel,Zhenkun Wang,Shrawan Kumar Thapa,Thuy Nuong Tran,Lena Maier-Hein,Nassir Navab,Cristians Gonzalez,Armine Vardazaryan,Amine Yamlahi,Finn-Henri Smidt,Guoyan Zheng,Satoshi Kondo,Satoshi Kasai,Shuangchun Gui,Han Li,B N Bhattarai,Ziheng Wang,Melanie Schellenberg,Joao L. Fonseca,Jan-Hinrich Nolke,Estevão Lima,Eduard Vazquez,Pietro Mascagni,Barbara Seeliger,Didier Mutter,Nicolas Padoy +48 more
TL;DR: The CholecTriplet2022 challenge as mentioned in this paper extended surgical action triplet modeling from recognition to detection, which includes weakly-supervised bounding box localization of every visible surgical instrument (or tool), as the key actors, and modeling of each tool-activity in the form of triplet.

SERV-CT: A disparity dataset from CT for validation of endoscopic 3D reconstruction.
TL;DR: The SERV-CT dataset as discussed by the authors provides an easy to use stereoscopic validation for surgical applications with smooth reference disparities and depths with coverage over the majority of the endoscopic images and a range of tissue types.

Endoscopic Depth Measurement and Super-Spectral-Resolution Imaging
Jianyu Lin,Neil T. Clancy,Yang Hu,Ji Qi,Taran Tatla,Danail Stoyanov,Danail Stoyanov,Lena Maier-Hein,Daniel S. Elson +8 more
TL;DR: An optical probe based system to combine sparse hyperspectral measurements and spectrally-encoded structured lighting (SL) for surface measurements and “super-spectral-resolution” was realized, whereby the RGB images and sparse Hyperspectral data were integrated to recover dense pixel-level hyperspectRAL stacks, by using convolutional neural networks to upscale the wavelength dimension.

Pd42-08 introducing a combined ultrasound and electromagnetic tracking device for navigated sonographic kidney puncture.
Tobias Simpfendörfer,Alfred M. Franz,Alexander Seitel,Nasrin Bopp,Claudia Gasch,Markus Hohenfellner,Lena Maier-Hein,Dogu Teber +7 more
TL;DR: The instrument was completed independently of each other and opinions about the ureteroscope were not discussed during the procedure, and internal consistency was assessed with Cronbach’s alpha and Pearson correlation coefficients were calculated to describe the linear relationship between items.
