Bim, a Proapoptotic Protein, Up-regulated via Transcription Factor E2F1-dependent Mechanism, Functions as a Prosurvival Molecule in Cancer
Raghu Gogada,Neelu Yadav,Junwei Liu,Shaohua Tang,Dianmu Zhang,Andrea Schneider,Athul Seshadri,Leimin Sun,C. Marcelo Aldaz,Dean G. Tang,Dhyan Chandra +10 more
TL;DR: The findings suggest that the constitutively overexpressed Bim may function as a prosurvival molecule in epithelial cancer cells, and phosphorylation and association with Bcl-xL/Mcl-1 block its proapoptotic functions.

Transformations of the macromolecular landscape at mitochondria during DNA-damage-induced apoptotic cell death
Neelu Yadav,Artem Pliss,Andrey N. Kuzmin,Péter Rapali,Leimin Sun,Paras N. Prasad,Dhyan Chandra +6 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that transformation in biomolecular composition of mitochondrion may be used as apoptosis marker in an individual cell using Raman microspectroscopy, and this findings open up a new approach for monitoring physiological status of cells by non invasive single-cell method.
Mechanism of neem limonoids-induced cell death in cancer: Role of oxidative phosphorylation.
Neelu Yadav,Sandeep Kumar,Rahul Kumar,Pragya Srivastava,Leimin Sun,Péter Rapali,Timothy Marlowe,Andrea Schneider,Joseph R. Inigo,Jordan O'Malley,Ramesh Londonkar,Raghu Gogada,Ajay K. Chaudhary,Nagendra Yadava,Dhyan Chandra +14 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that neem limonoids target OXPHOS system to induce cancer cell death, which does not require upregulation or activation of proapoptotic Bcl-2 family proteins.

mTORC2 Facilitates Liver Regeneration Through Sphingolipid-Induced PPAR-α-Fatty Acid Oxidation
Lingling Zhang,Yanqiu Li,Ying Wang,Yugang Qiu,Han-Chuan Mou,Y.T. Deng,Jiyuan Yao,Zhiqing Xia,Wenzhe Zhang,Dina Zhu,Zeyu Qiu,Zhongjie Yu,Jirong Wang,Zhouxin Yang,Genxiang Mao,Dan Chen,Leimin Sun,Lei-Lei Liu,Zhenyu Ju +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α (PPAR-α) agonist, p53 inhibitor, and protein kinase B (AKT) activator were evaluated in the mTORC2-deficient liver.

MAPK4 silencing in gastric cancer drives liver metastasis by positive feedback between cancer cells and macrophages
Shuang Li,Dongyang Guo,Qiang Sun,Lu Zhang,Yun Cui,Min Liu,Xixi Ma,Yiman Liu,Wen-Yu Cui,Leimin Sun,Lisong Teng,Liangjing Wang,Aifu Lin,Wei Li,Wei Dong Zhuo,Tianhua Zhou +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper , a combination of in vivo screening and transcriptome profiling followed by quantitative RT-PCR and tissue array analyses is found that mitogen-activated protein kinase 4 (MAPK4) downregulation in gastric cancer tissues from patients is significantly associated with liver metastasis and poor prognosis.
