Acupuncture for migraine prophylaxis: a randomized controlled trial
Ying Li,Hui Zheng,Claudia M. Witt,Stephanie Roll,Shu-Guang Yu,Jie Yan,Guo-jie Sun,Ling Zhao,Wenjing Huang,Xiaorong Chang,Hong-xing Zhang,De-jun Wang,Lei Lan,Ran Zou,Fanrong Liang +14 more
TL;DR: Acupuncture tested appeared to have a clinically minor effect on migraine prophylaxis compared with sham acupuncture, and there was a significant, but not clinically relevant, benefit for almost all secondary outcomes in the three acupuncture groups compared with the control group.
Abnormal thalamocortical network dynamics in migraine.
Yiheng Tu,Zening Fu,Fang Zeng,Nasim Maleki,Lei Lan,Zhengjie Li,Joel Park,Georgia Wilson,Yujie Gao,Mailan Liu,Vince Calhoun,Fanrong Liang,Jian Kong +12 more
TL;DR: Interestingly, it was found that abnormal posterior thalamus (pulvinar nucleus) dFNC with the visual cortex and the precuneus were significantly correlated with headache frequency of migraine, and migraineurs had significantly lower efficiency of information transfer in both global and local dF NC.
Acupuncture for functional dyspepsia.
TL;DR: The body of evidence identified cannot yet permit a robust conclusion regarding the efficacy and safety of acupuncture for FD, and it remains unknown whether manual acupuncture or electroacupuncture is more effective or safer than other treatments for patients with FD.

An fMRI-based neural marker for migraine without aura.
Yiheng Tu,Fang Zeng,Lei Lan,Zhengjie Li,Nasim Maleki,Bo Liu,Jun Chen,Chenchen Wang,Joel Park,Courtney Lang,Gao Yujie,Mailan Liu,Zening Fu,Zhiguo Zhang,Fanrong Liang,Jian Kong +15 more
TL;DR: An fMRI-based neural marker that captures distinct characteristics of MwoA and can link disease pattern changes to brain changes is identified and shown significant correlation with the changes in headache frequency in response to real acupuncture.
