Chicken jejunal microbiota improves growth performance by mitigating intestinal inflammation
Xiaotong Zhang,M. Akhtar,Yan Chen,Ziyu Ma,Yuyun Liang,Deshi Shi,Ranran Cheng,Lei Cui,Yafang Hu,Abdallah A. Nafady,Abdur Rahman Ansari,El-Sayed M. Abdel-Kafy,Huazhen Liu +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors found that the expression of TLR4, NF-κB, MyD88, and related inflammatory cytokines in the jejunum was significantly upregulated in low body weight chickens, which led to the damage of gut barrier integrity.

Sex differences in growth performance are related to cecal microbiota in chicken.
Lei Cui,Xiaolong Zhang,Ranran Cheng,Abdur Rahman Ansari,Abdelmotaleb A. Elokil,Yafang Hu,Yan Chen,Abdallah A. Nafady,Huazhen Liu +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, male and female chickens at 7-week age were used to carry out histomorphological, molecular, gene expression analysis with their liver, chest and leg muscle, as well as 16S rRNA sequencing analysis for gut microbiota.

Caecal microbiota could effectively increase chicken growth performance by regulating fat metabolism
Xiaolong Zhang,Yafang Hu,Abdur Rahman Ansari,Abdur Rahman Ansari,Muhammad Akhtar,Yan Chen,Ranran Cheng,Lei Cui,Abdallah A. Nafady,Abdelmotaleb A. Elokil,Abdelmotaleb A. Elokil,El-Sayed M. Abdel-Kafy,Huazhen Liu +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the relative abundance of gut microbiota in the caecal contents at the genus level was compared by 16S rRNA gene sequencing, which indicated that high body weight chickens contained Microbacterium and Sphingomonas more abundantly (P < 0.05).

Impact of Maternal Selenium Supplementation from Late Gestation and Lactation on Piglet Immune Function.
Ning-Ya Li,Zhi-Jian Sun,Abdur Rahman Ansari,Lei Cui,Yafang Hu,Z. Li,Mickael Briens,Lei Kai,Lv-Hui Sun,Niel A. Karrow,Huazhen Liu +10 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that sow supplementation with OH-SeMet enhances mainly passive immunity through IgG maternal transfer and can influence piglet innate and acquired immunity.
