Flexibly configured containers consisting of resources within time-frequency blocks may be used to support multiple numerologies in new radio architectures. Uplink control may be defined in resources within a container, or in dedicated resources, by various nodes. Sounding reference signal resources may be dynamically configured for each numerology. The sequence length may be adapted, as well as the time domain location of symbols. Time, frequency, and orthogonal resources may be allocated via a downlink control channel or a radio resource control. Sounding reference signals may be pre-coded, and pre-coding weights may be based on a codebook or non-codebook approaches, e.g., via a radio resource control or a downlink RRC or DL control channel. Pre-coded sounding reference signals may be adapted to user equipment antenna configuration. Further, NR-SRS may be used as UL demodulation RS (DM-RS).

The method comprises a network slice orchestrator (NWSO) receiving from a network slice manager (NWSM) a request for a new network slice, the NWSO adding a new service to the new network slice, the NWSO determining a network slice descriptor (NWSD) for the new network slice, the NWSO transmitting to a resource orchestrator (RO) a request for an instantiation of the network slice using enhanced network function virtualization management and orchestration (E-MANO). A method of modifying a network slice is also provided. The method comprises a NWSO receiving from a NWSM a request to add a new service to a network slice, the NWSO adding a new service to the network slice, the NWSO determining a NWSD for the network slice with the added service, and the NWSO transmitting to a RO a request for an instantiation of the added service on the network slice using E-MANO. A method of terminating a network slice is also provided. The method comprises a NWSO receiving from a NWSM a request to terminate a network slice, the NWSO determining the subnetworks to terminate, and the NWSO transmitting to a RO a request for a termination of the slice specific network functions (NFs).

System information can include a basic set of system information and additional system information. A UE can receive the basic set of system information and then later request or receive the additional system information. Messages can use tags which can be used to look up locally stored system information. If a tag does not correspond to any locally stored system information, the system information and an associated tag can then be requested. Messages can be indicative of a cluster identity associated with cells. When the UE goes into a new cell, the cluster identity can be checked to see if system information from a prior call can be reused.

A WTRU ( 102 ) may receive updated assistance information for network slice selection and/or reselection ( 410 ). The WTRU may apply local policies to determine when to use the updated assistance information to access a network slice ( 440 ). The WTRU may determine whether to contact an existing network slice function ( 470 ) or a new network slice function ( 460 ) to establish a connection to a network slice. Based on the determination, the WTRU may transmit different information to the network. The network slice selection and/or reselection may be initiated by a WTRU or by a network.

A network slice selection involves authenticating, by an identity manager ( 1 ) of a network operator ( 4 ), a user device ( 8 ) and/or user based on a network attachment request originating from the user device ( 8 ) to correlate the user device ( 8 ) and/or user to a network slice of multiple network slices ( 3 ) provided by the network operator ( 4 ). The identity manager ( 1 ) authorizes access to a network slice ( 3 ) of the network slice type based on credentials of the user device ( 8 ) and/or user. The identity manager ( 1 ) provides information of an entry point to an application provided by the network slice ( 3 ) for transmission to the user device ( 8 ).

A method in a user equipment for attaching the user equipment to a mobile communications network comprises receiving a list of network slice identities, wherein a network slice identity identifies a portion of the mobile communications network that serves as a logical network to a set of user equipment (step 201). A network slice is selected based on one or more criteria (step 203). A network slice attachment request is sent to a network node (step 205), for requesting attachment of the user equipment to the selected network slice of the mobile communications network.

The video streams (21, 22, 23) from the different user devices (1, 2, 3) are time aligned based on the estimated capture times assigned to decoded video frames (31, 32, 33).

A VLC signal representing an alignment identifier is detected by cameras (4) of multiple user devices (1, 2, 3) filming a scene. Encoded video frames (91, 92, 93) from the user devices (1, 2, 3) are decoded and light patterns representing the captured VLC signal are identified in at least some of the video frames following decoding. The light patterns are decoded into alignment identifiers that are used in order to time align video frames (91, 92, 93) from different user devices (1, 2, 3) to thereby achieve video frame synchronization of video data from multiple user devices (1, 2, 3) recording a scene. The embodiments thereby enable video frame synchronization without the need for accurate clock synchronization between the user devices (1, 2, 3) and a video synchronization system (10).
