The invention belongs to the technical field of preparation of silicon steel insulating coatings and particularly relates to preparation and application of an environment-friendly insulating coating solution for oriented silicon steel. Based on the total mass, the coating solution comprises the following components by mass percent: 23-26% of an aluminium dihydrogen phosphate solution, 13-17% of zinc dihydrogen phosphate, 5-6% of boric acid, 20-25% of silica sol, 3.5-4.5% of fumed silica and the balance of water. The oriented silicon steel is coated with the environment-friendly insulating coating solution and then subjected to baking and high-temperature sintering, so that a coating is formed, and the formed coating has high interlayer resistance, meets the demand on insulation performance, and has favorable adhesiveness, surface mechanical property and processability.
