Effect of Polymer Micelles on Antifungal Activity of Geranylorcinol Compounds against Botrytis cinerea
Lautaro Taborga,Katy Díaz,Andrés F. Olea,Paula Reyes-Bravo,Mario E. Flores,Hugo Peña-Cortés,Luis Espinoza +6 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that polymer micelles are promising systems for application of crop-protecting agents.

Synthesis of Linear Geranylphenols and Their Effect on Mycelial Growth of Plant Pathogen Botrytis cinerea
TL;DR: The results suggest that the new derivatives of geranylphenols have the ability to block the mycelial development of the plant pathogen B. cinerea and that this capacity depends strongly on the structural features and lipophilicity of the compounds.
23
Synthesis and nmr structure determination of new linear geranylphenols by direct geranylation of activated phenols
Lautaro Taborga,Alejandra P. Vergara,María José Fernández,Mauricio Osorio,Marcela Carvajal,Alejandro Madrid,Francisco Marilaf,Héctor Carrasco,Luis Espinoza Catalán +8 more
TL;DR: The known geranylhydroquinone 2, geranylorcinol 4 and the derivative (E)-4-(3,7-dimethyl octa-2,6-dienyl)-5-methylbenzene-1,3,5-triol (geranylphloroglucinol) were prepared by Electrophilic Aromatic Substitution (EAS) reactions between the corresponding phenol derivatives containing electron-donor subtituents and geraniol using BF 3 ×OEt 2 as a catalyst.
Antiproliferative effect and apoptotic activity of linear geranylphenol derivatives from phloroglucinol and orcinol.
Lautaro Taborga,Luis Espinoza,Alejandra Moller,Héctor Carrasco,Mauricio Cuellar,Joan Villena +5 more
TL;DR: It was found that compounds 12 and 13, induced changes in mitochondrial membrane permeability in those cancer cell lines, and such induction was associated with the depletion of mitochondrial membrane potential.

Synthesis and in Vitro Antifungal Activity against Botrytis cinerea of Geranylated Phenols and Their Phenyl Acetate Derivatives
María I. Chávez,Mauricio Soto,Lautaro Taborga,Katy Díaz,Andrés F. Olea,Camila Bay,Hugo Peña-Cortés,Luis Espinoza +7 more
TL;DR: The inhibitory effects on the mycelial growth of plant pathogen Botritys cinerea have been evaluated for a series of geranylphenols substituted with one, two and three methoxy groups in the aromatic ring and the results show that the antifungal activity depends on the structure of the geranyl phenols.
