Humanity has undertaken actions to decarbonize the main CO2-emitting industries, such as the energy industry. The solution to this problem has been to use renewable energy sources, with positive results in recent years. The objective of the present research was to analyze the scientific advances produced in research on renewable energy and energy production globally during the years 2019 and 2023. The purpose was to determine the current status and future trends in renewable energies in order to contribute to the scientific community by identifying potential risks and encouraging collaboration between authors, institutions, and countries. A bibliometric analysis was performed in the Scopus database using the keywords “renewable energies” and “energy production” within a search equation with a time limit of 2019 and 2023. Keyword co-occurrence and collaboration between authors and countries were performed with VOS Viewer software. It was determined, using per capita research analysis, that the leaders in this research were Cyprus, Denmark, Qatar, Norway, and Ireland. The leading institutions in this field of research are the Technical University of Denmark; Aalborg University; and the Ministry of Education, China. The predominant research topics were energy, engineering, and environmental sciences, related to energy sources such as biomass, hydrogen, or wave energy. The results described here have the potential to contribute to the scientific community, stimulating new research and identifying new needs in the existing literature.

Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Production: A Bibliometric Analysis of the Last Five Years

Above paper present the development of Solar PV based system with grid interfacing involving power quality improvement measures by using a L-C filter. And a three-phase voltage source converter is used in place of an inverter for interfacing between the DC-Voltage produced by solar and the grid having AC-transmission line. A MPPT technique is also used in this system to enhance the efficiency of the PV array irrespective of the variable climatic conditions. So that maximum power could be extracted from the solar PV array and connected to the grid.

Countries that have great wind energy potential tend to utilize wind power plants to meet electrical energy needs. Wind power plants can be used as Distributed Generation (DG) to minimize power losses in the process of distributing electrical power. Therefore the output power of the wind power plant can be directly distributed to the distribution network. When on a bus there is a large load increase and results in a lack of power, it is necessary to transfer power from other wind power plants. The purpose of this paper is to provide a solution to this problem by controlling the flow of power in the interline network. The device needed to carry out this strategy is Interline Power Flow Control (IPFC). IPFC is installed between two distribution lines connected to wind power plants and loads. So that it can flow power more flexibly to buses and loads that are experiencing a lack of power. The results of this study that the placement of IPFC can help increase the voltage value of the bus until it reaches its safe operating range margin. The more IPFC is placed in the electric power system, the higher the output power of the wind power plant.

Nordic and baltic wind generation influence to estonian thermal power plants production

The increase of production from wind power plants and photovoltaics with changing market conditions are changing the energy system as we have known. Estonia has set a target to increase the consumption from renewable energy by 2030 to 50%, which would mean that there is a need for about additional 2.3 TWh of electricity generated from renewables by 2030. The maximum flexibility of the existing energy system in integration of renewable energy is not yet analyzed. The EnergyPLAN software is used in the study to determine what is the technical-economical limitation of additional wind and photovoltaic that can be added to the system. The results demonstrate despite the additional renewable energy generation the conventional oil shale based power plants which are mostly influence by the CO2 price. Even when the Estonian 2030 renewable energy targets would multiple the renewable energy production, because of the high CO2 price Estonia would transform to electricity importing country.

Wind and Solar energy optimal integration

In coming years the amount of renewable energy production compared to the production from conventional power plants will increase. The electricity produced from wind energy is considered to be the one with the lowest levelized cost of energy and could be a dominant electricity source in the future. The dismantling of conventional power plants and increase in variable renewable energy production will have effect on the average electricity price on the Nord Pool market to the consumers, but even more to the wind electricity producers. Three scenarios of wind energy installed capacity from years 2025 to 2045 were analyzed with Balmorel program in Estonia and nearby countries. As a results two simplified models to determine the average electricity price and the discount effect in relation to installed wind energy capacity was introduced.
