Involvement of Cellular Prion Protein in α-Synuclein Transport in Neurons
Laura Urrea,Miriam Segura-Feliu,Masami Masuda-Suzukake,Arnau Hervera,Lucas Pedraz,José Manuel García Aznar,Miquel Vila,Josep Samitier,Eduard Torrents,Isidro Ferrer,Rosalina Gavín,Masato Hagesawa,José Antonio del Río +12 more
TL;DR: Results demonstrate that Prnp expression is not mandatory for α-synuclein spreading, and although the pathological spreading of α- synuclein can take place in the absence of Prnp, α- Synuclein expanded faster in PrPC-overexpressing mice.
The cellular prion protein (PrPC) as neuronal receptor for α-synuclein.
TL;DR: Current knowledge of PrPC as a receptor for amyloid proteins and its physiological significance are summarized, with particular focus on α-synuclein.

Disease-Specific Changes in Reelin Protein and mRNA in Neurodegenerative Diseases
Laia Lidón,Laura Urrea,Franc Llorens,Franc Llorens,Vanessa Gil,Ignacio Alvarez,Monica Diez-Fairen,Miguel Aguilar,Pau Pastor,Inga Zerr,Inga Zerr,Daniel Alcolea,Alberto Lleó,Enric Vidal,Rosalina Gavín,Isidre Ferrer,José Antonio del Río +16 more
TL;DR: Brain levels of RELN mRNA and Reelin protein in post-mortem frontal cortex samples from different sporadic AD stages, Parkinson’s disease with dementia (PDD), and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (sCJD), obtained from five different Biobanks are analyzed to help generate a biomarker signature in prodromal studies of unidentified dementia and sCJD.
Erratum to: Involvement of Cellular Prion Protein in α-Synuclein Transport in Neurons.
Laura Urrea,Miriam Segura-Feliu,Masami Masuda-Suzukake,Arnau Hervera,Lucas Pedraz,José Manuel García-Aznar,Miquel Vila,Josep Samitier,Eduard Torrents,Isidro Ferrer,Rosalina Gavín,Masato Hagesawa,José Antonio del Río +12 more
TL;DR: The presentation Dr. José Manuel García-Aznar’s name was incorrect and Citation should be BGarcía- Aznar, JM^ instead of BAznar, JMG^.
Reelin Expression in Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease and Experimental Models of Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies
Agata Mata,Laura Urrea,Silvia Vilches,Franc Llorens,Katrin Thüne,Juan Carlos Espinosa,Olivier Andreoletti,Alejandro M. Sevillano,Juan María Torres,Jesús R. Requena,Inga Zerr,Isidro Ferrer,Rosalina Gavín,José Antonio del Río +13 more
TL;DR: It is determined that Reelin protein and mRNA levels increased in CJD human samples and in mouse models of human prion disease in contrast to murine models of prion infection, which widens the understanding of the putative changes of Reelin in neurodegeneration.
