New formula for evaluation of the QT interval in patients with left bundle branch block
Harilaos Bogossian,Gerrit Frommeyer,Ilias Ninios,Fuad Hasan,Quy Suu Nguyen,Zana Karosiene,Dejan Mijic,Axel Kloppe,Hawal Suleiman,Dirk Bandorski,Melchior Seyfarth,Bernd Lemke,Lars Eckardt,Markus Zarse +13 more
TL;DR: It is shown that QT prolongation caused by LBBB constitutes 48.5% of the QRS width, which is the value that must be subtracted from the measured QT in L BBB in order to estimate the modified QT.

The young patient with asymptomatic atrial fibrillation: what is the evidence to leave the arrhythmia untreated?
TL;DR: In this article, the authors summarized epidemiological data on young atrial fibrillation, efficacy, and limitations of rate and rhythm control by means of medication and catheter ablation in young patients, information on arrhythmia progression and outcome.

Electrophysiological profile of vernakalant in an experimental whole-heart model: the absence of proarrhythmia despite significant effect on myocardial repolarization.
Gerrit Frommeyer,Peter Milberg,Catharina Clauss,Marco Schmidt,Shahram Ramtin,Sven Kaese,Fabian Grundmann,Jochen Schulze Grotthoff,Christian Pott,Lars Eckardt +9 more
TL;DR: Application of VER and SOT led to a comparable prolongation of myocardial repolarization and both drugs increased the PRR, however, VER neither affect the dispersion of repolarized nor induce EAD and therefore did not cause proarrhythmia.

Rationale and design of the MONITOR-ICD study: A randomized comparison of economic and clinical effects of automatic remote MONITORing versus control in patients with Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators
Markus Zabel,Falk Müller-Riemenschneider,Falk Müller-Riemenschneider,J. Christoph Geller,Johannes Brachmann,Volker Kühlkamp,Rüdiger Dissmann,Thomas Reinhold,Stephanie Roll,Lars Lüthje,Frank Bode,Lars Eckardt,Stefan N. Willich,Monitor-Icd investigators +13 more
TL;DR: The MONITOR-ICD study will be an important randomized RM study to report data on a primary economic end point in 2014 and its results on ICD shocks will add to the currently available evidence on clinical benefit of RM.
