Proteasome inhibition enhances the induction and impairs the maintenance of late-phase long-term potentiation.
TL;DR: It is shown here that inhibition of the proteasome enhances the induction of L-LTP, but inhibits its maintenance, and that proteasomesome-mediated proteolysis has different roles during the induction and the maintenance of L -LTP.

Methylation of arsenic by recombinant human wild-type arsenic (+3 oxidation state) methyltransferase and its methionine 287 threonine (M287T) polymorph: Role of glutathione.
Lan Ding,R. Jesse Saunders,Zuzana Drobná,Felecia S. Walton,Pencheng Xun,David J. Thomas,Miroslav Stýblo +6 more
TL;DR: 1mM GSH modulates AS3MT activity, increasing both methylation rates and yield of DMAs(III) and, ultimately, to differences in the disease susceptibility in individuals chronically exposed to inorganic arsenic.

Comparative oxidation state specific analysis of arsenic species by high-performance liquid chromatography-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry and hydride generation-cryotrapping-atomic absorption spectrometry.

TL;DR: The results show that reversed-phase HPLC-ICP-MS can identify and quantify MAsIII and DMAsIII in aqueous mixtures of biologically relevant arsenical standards, however, HPLC separation of the in vitro methylation mixture resulted in significant losses of MAs III, and particularly DMAs III with total arsenic recoveries below 25%.

Expression of the Longest RGS4 Splice Variant in the Prefrontal Cortex Is Associated with Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms in Schizophrenia Patients
TL;DR: Lower RGS4-1 mRNA expression in the DLPFC of SCZ is associated with SNPs in the 5′ regulatory region of the R GS4 gene but not with the methylation status of its CpG islands.
