Phonon anomalies and range of superconducting energy gaps from infrared studies of YBa2Cu3O7- delta.
TL;DR: The oscillator strengths of the experimentally observed phonons are all stronger than those from a lattice-dynamics model which assumes ionic charges close to the formal ones, especially so for the lowest phonon found at 155 cm/sup /minus/1/ which shows a strength about 15 times higher than theoretically expected.

Systematic Raman and infrared studies of the superconductor YBa2Cu3O7-x as a function of oxygen concentration (0≦x≦1)
Christian Thomsen,R. Liu,M. Bauer,A. Wittlin,L. Genzel,Manuel Cardona,E. Schönherr,W. Bauhofer,W. König +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the variation of Raman and infrared spectra of the new high T c superconductors with oxygen content was studied and it was shown that the Raman peaks associated with Cu-O stretching vibration (502 cm −1, x=0) and Ba-O vibrations (154 cm − 1, x = 0) decrease in frequency when oxygen is removed.

Optical conductivity of BCS superconductors with arbitrary purity
TL;DR: In this paper, an explicit expression for the complex optical and AC conductivity of a homogeneous BCS superconductor with arbitrary electron mean free path is given, and a fast self-contained FORTAN program may be used to fit experimental data.

Far-infrared spectroscopy on oriented films of dry and hydrated DNA
TL;DR: Based on a simple lattice-dynamics model, the description of low-lying vibrational modes of DNA is presented and the influence of hydration on mode frequencies is described.

Temperature dependence of the Raman and infrared phonons of MBa2Cu3O7-δ-type superconductors
A. Wittlin,R. Liu,Manuel Cardona,L. Genzel,W. König,W. Bauhofer,Hj. Mattausch,A. Simon,Flaviano García-Alvarado +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the anomalous temperature dependence of the ∼340 cm-1 Raman phonons of YBa2Cu3O7-δ is common to many materials of the family (M = Y, Sm, Eu, Ho, Gd), and the ir-active Davidov counterpart of this phonon, and another iractive phonon at slightly lower frequency, also exhibit similar effects.
