Resolvin E1 dampens airway inflammation and hyperresponsiveness in a murine model of asthma.
Haruka Aoki,Takeshi Hisada,Tamotsu Ishizuka,Mitsuyoshi Utsugi,Tadayoshi Kawata,Yasuo Shimizu,Fumikazu Okajima,Kunio Dobashi,Masatomo Mori +8 more
TL;DR: Findings provide evidence that RvE1 is a pivotal counterregulatory signal in allergic inflammation and offer novel multi-pronged therapeutic approaches for human asthma.

Clinicopathologic Significance of the Mutations of the Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor Gene in Patients with Non ^ Small Cell Lung Cancer
Yoshio Tomizawa,Hironobu Iijima,Noriaki Sunaga,Koji Sato,Atsushi Takise,Yoshimi Otani,S. Tanaka,Tatsuo Suga,Ryusei Saito,Tamotsu Ishizuka,Kunio Dobashi,John D. Minna,Takashi Nakajima,Masatomo Mori +13 more
TL;DR: These results in Japanese (East Asian) patients indicated that EGFR mutation plays an important role in pathogenesis of lung adenocarcinoma.

Phase II prospective study of the efficacy of gefitinib for the treatment of stage III/IV non-small cell lung cancer with EGFR mutations, irrespective of previous chemotherapy
Noriaki Sunaga,Yoshio Tomizawa,Noriko Yanagitani,Hironobu Iijima,Kyoichi Kaira,Kimihiro Shimizu,Shigebumi Tanaka,Tatsuo Suga,Takeshi Hisada,Tamotsu Ishizuka,Ryusei Saito,Kunio Dobashi,Masatomo Mori +12 more
TL;DR: Analysis of tumor EGFR mutations in patients with NSCLC could be used to identify patients suitable for treatment with gefitinib to obtain optimum response and disease control rates.

c-Jun N-terminal kinase negatively regulates lipopolysaccharide-induced IL-12 production in human macrophages: role of mitogen-activated protein kinase in glutathione redox regulation of IL-12 production.
Mitsuyoshi Utsugi,Kunio Dobashi,Tamotsu Ishizuka,Katsuaki Endou,Junji Hamuro,Yukie Murata,Tsugio Nakazawa,Masatomo Mori +7 more
TL;DR: It is found that LPS induced IL-12 p40 protein and mRNA in a time- and concentration-dependent manner in PMA-treated THP-1 macrophages and that glutathione redox regulates LPS-induced IL- 12 production through the opposite control of JNK and p38 MAP kinase activation.

A major role for the Rho‐associated coiled coil forming protein kinase in G‐protein‐mediated Ca2+ sensitization through inhibition of myosin phosphatase in rabbit trachea
Kunihiko Iizuka,Akihiro Yoshii,Koichi Samizo,Hideo Tsukagoshi,Tamotsu Ishizuka,Kunio Dobashi,Tsugio Nakazawa,Masatomo Mori +7 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that ROCK plays a primary role in G‐protein‐mediated Ca2+ sensitization, which requires MLCK activity, with minor contribution of PKC to the early phase of contraction, and PDBu utilizes conventional PKC(s) in airway smooth muscle.
