Contesting the existence of male speech stereotypes within the communicative context of nursing: a case of Bonda mission hospital, Zimbabwe
TL;DR: In this article, a case study carried out on 3 male nurses at Bonda mission hospital in Inyanga, Zimbabwe, found that male nurses use hedges to mitigate orders, commands and requests, signal collaboration and cooperativeness, maintain a relationship of solidarity, to maintain a closeness, and for politeness reasons.
Linguistic strategies used by the Ministry of Health and Childcare in Zimbabwe to sensitise citizens on COVID-19
TL;DR: In this article , the use of Shona and English in COVID-19 pandemic adverts by the Ministry of Health and Child Care in Zimbabwe is explored. And the authors conclude that using these devices, the ministry exploits shared knowledge and then appeals to cognition through interrogatives to subtly garner support, manipulate opinion and manufacture compliance through the adverts.

TL;DR: All indigenous languages should be used in Zimbabwean public schools alongside English through codeswitching, practitioners being left to decide on the language(s) of instruction depending on the demands of their situations.
