Some considerations on fuzzy conditional inference
TL;DR: It is pointed out that the consequence inferred by the methods suggested does not always fit intuitions and improved methods are suggested which fit the authors' intuitions under several criteria.
Dynamic Behavior of Rippled Shock Waves and Subsequently Induced Areal-Density-Perturbation Growth in Laser-Irradiated Foils
Takuma Endo,Keisuke Shigemori,Hiroshi Azechi,A. Nishiguchi,K. Mima,Masugu Sato,M. Nakai,S. Nakaji,N. Miyanaga,S. Matsuoka,A. Ando,Kokichi Tanaka,Sumiko Nakai +12 more
TL;DR: It has been found that the growth of the areal-density perturbation prior to shock breakout is due predominantly to the rippled-shock propagation.
Creation of persistent, straight, 2 mm long laser driven channels in underdense plasmas
Gianluca Sarri,Kate Lancaster,Raoul Trines,E.L. Clark,S. M. Hassan,J. Jiang,N. Kageiwa,Nelson Lopes,Rafael Ramis,Asim Ur Rehman,Xavier Ribeyre,C. Russo,Robbie Scott,T. Tanimoto,M. Temporal,Marco Borghesi,J. R. Davies,Zulfikar Najmudin,Kokichi Tanaka,Michael Tatarakis,Peter Norreys +20 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the behavior of deuterium plasma with densities between 2×1018 and 2×1020 cm−3, subjected to a 6 TW, 30 ps, 3 ×1018 cm−2 laser pulse, is presented.
Observation of postsoliton expansion following laser propagation through an underdense plasma.
Gianluca Sarri,D. K. Singh,J. R. Davies,Frederico Fiuza,Kate Lancaster,Eugene Clark,S. Hassan,J. Jiang,N. Kageiwa,Nelson Lopes,Asim Ur Rehman,C. Russo,Robbie Scott,Robbie Scott,T. Tanimoto,Zulfikar Najmudin,Kokichi Tanaka,Michael Tatarakis,Marco Borghesi,Peter Norreys,Peter Norreys +20 more
TL;DR: The observed expansion of electromagnetic postsolitons emerging from the interaction of a 30 ps, 3×10¹⁸ W cm⁻² laser pulse with an underdense deuterium plasma is compared to analytical models and three-dimensional particle-in-cell results, revealing a polarization dependence of the postsoliton dynamics.
Fuzzy robot controls
TL;DR: To show how a fuzzy program is executed, a simulation system is exploited which controls a simple inchworm robot and fuzzy instructions are translated into machine instructions by the use of MAX-METHOD and backtracking.
