Electrochemical, spectroelectrochemical, and molecular quadratic and cubic nonlinear optical properties of alkynylruthenium dendrimers.
Marie P. Cifuentes,Clem E. Powell,Joseph P. Morrall,Andrew M. McDonagh,Nigel T. Lucas,Mark G. Humphrey,Marek Samoc,Stephan Houbrechts,Inge Asselberghs,Koen Clays,and André Persoons,Takashi Isoshima +11 more
TL;DR: Both refractive and absorptive nonlinearity for selected alkynylruthenium dendrimers have been reversibly "switched" by employing the Z-scan technique, suggesting that the NLO effects originate in picosecond time scale processes.

Combining Very Large Quadratic and Cubic Nonlinear Optical Responses in Extended, Tris-Chelate Metallochromophores with Six π-Conjugated Pyridinium Substituents
Benjamin J. Coe,John Fielden,Simon Foxon,Bruce S. Brunschwig,Inge Asselberghs,Koen Clays,Anna Samoc,Marek Samoc +7 more
TL;DR: A series of nine new complex salts in which electron-rich Ru( II) or Fe(II) centers are connected via pi-conjugated bridges to six electron-accepting N-methyl-/N-arylpyridinium groups are described, achieving greatly enhanced NLO properties and also combining large quadratic and cubic effects in potentially redox-switchable molecules.
Organometallic complexes for nonlinear optics. 28. Dimensional evolution of quadratic and cubic optical nonlinearities in stilbenylethynylruthenium complexes
Stephanie K. Hurst,Mark G. Humphrey,Takashi Isoshima,Kurt Wostyn,Inge Asselberghs,Koen Clays,André Persoons,Marek Samoc,Barry Luther-Davies +8 more
TL;DR: Quadratic nonlinearities for octopolar stilbenylruthenium complexes are large for compounds without strongly accepting substituents as mentioned in this paper, and two-photon absorption cross-sect...

Hyper-Rayleigh scattering of neutral and charged helicenes (vol 412, pg 275, 2005)
Edith Botek,Milena Spassova,Benoıît Champagne,Inge Asselberghs,Andre Persoons,Koen Clays +5 more
- 01 Jan 2006
TL;DR: In this paper, the second-order nonlinear optical responses of homo- and hetero-helicenes were investigated using the time-dependent Hartree-Fock approach and the Austin Model I semi-empirical Hamiltonian.
