Papers
Physicochemical study of diethylmethylammonium methanesulfonate under anhydrous conditions.
Hailong Pan,Pieter Geysens,Tristan Putzeys,Alessia Gennaro,Yingting Yi,Hua Li,Rob Atkin,Koen Binnemans,Jiangshui Luo,Michael Wübbenhorst +9 more
TL;DR: The non-negligible influence of previously reported low water content on the physicochemical properties of [DEMA]:OMs is found, indicating the importance of reducing water content as much as possible for the study of "intrinsic" properties of protic ionic liquids.
Symmetry and electronic states of Mn2+ in ZnS nanowires with mixed hexagonal and cubic stacking
Li Chen,Demid A. Kirilenko,Andre Stesmans,Xuan Sang Nguyen,Koen Binnemans,Bart Goderis,Johan Vanacken,Oleg I. Lebedev,Gustaaf Van Tendeloo,Victor Moshchalkov +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the symmetry and electronic structure of Mn2+ dopants in solvothermally synthesized ZnS nanowires were studied using electron spin resonance and electronic spectroscopy techniques.

Effect of sintering atmosphere on the hardness of ThO2
Angela Baena,Thomas Cardinaels,Jelle Van Eyken,Jean Louis Puzzolante,Koen Binnemans,Marc Verwerft +5 more
TL;DR: The hardness and toughness of ThO 2 sintered under reducing and oxidizing conditions has been investigated and quite unexpectedly, a significant difference in hardness was observed for the entire range of porosities studied as mentioned in this paper.

Spectroscopic properties of LiErF4
TL;DR: In this article, the D2d symmetry for the coordination polyhedron around the trivalent erbium ion was assumed and the energy level scheme was parametrized in terms of 20 free-ion and 5 Bqk crystal-field parameters.

Behaviour of Silica during Metal Recovery from Bauxite Residue by Acidic Leaching
Rodolfo Marin Rivera,Brecht Ulenaers,Ghania Ounoughene,Koen Binnemans,Tom Van Gerven +4 more
- 01 Jan 2017
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the behavior of silica during acidic leaching with concentrated mineral acid (H2SO4) and showed that at constant temperatures, silica dissolution increases with increasing acid concentration, but it decreases when the temperature is increased and the acid concentration is reduced.
