Influence of the Chain Length on the Thermal Behavior of Lanthanide(III) 4-Alkoxybenzoates
TL;DR: In this paper, the thermal properties of 4-Alkoxybenzoic acids are discussed, relying on differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermooptical microscopy, and synchrotron X-ray diffraction data.

Enantioselective assembly of a ruthenium(II) polypyridyl complex into a double helix.
Kristof Van Hecke,Thomas Cardinaels,Peter Nockemann,Peter Nockemann,Jeroen Jacobs,Louis Vanpraet,Tatjana N. Parac-Vogt,Rik Van Deun,Koen Binnemans,Luc Van Meervelt +9 more
TL;DR: The unprecedented crystal structures of a metal complex that self-organizes into a continuous double helical structure, assembled by non-covalent building blocks are reported.
19
Cellulose Amorphization by Swelling in Ionic Liquid/Water Mixtures: A Combined Macroscopic and Second‐Harmonic Microscopy Study
TL;DR: Combined optical and SHG observations confirm that in the pure IL complete dissolution takes place, while swelling without dissolution in the optimal IL/water mixture yields a solid cellulose with a significantly reduced crystallinity in a single step.
18
Induced mesophases in binary mixtures of lanthanide(III) dodecanoates
TL;DR: In this paper, mesophase induction was observed in binary mixtures of the liquid-crystalline lanthanum-III dodecanoate and a nonmesomorphic lanthanide(III) dodecanosate.

Nature of equilibrium shifts in racemic praseodymium(III) tris(2,2′-oxydiacetate) induced by interaction with chiral probes
TL;DR: The dependence of the absorption dissymmetry factor, gabs, on the concentration of the L-proline indicated that the Pfeiffer effect in this lanthanide complex is best described by the associated model.
