Extraction of gallium from simulated Bayer process liquor by Kelex 100 dissolved in ionic liquids.
TL;DR: Ionic liquids are shown to beneficially influence the extraction process from thermodynamic and kinetic perspectives and promising to solve the issues which have thus far prevented the industrial application of resource-efficient solvent extraction techniques for the recovery of gallium from spent Bayer process liquor.

Rare-earth complexes of mesomorphic Schiff's base ligands
TL;DR: In this article, rare earth complexes of mesomorphic Schiff bases, 4-[(alkylimino)methyl]-3-hydroxyphenyl 4-alkyloxybenzoates, were synthesized.

Polymerization of PPTA in Ionic Liquid/Cosolvent Mixtures
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that 1-Octyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride (C8MIM][Cl]) showed the greatest potential to replace N-methylpyrrolidone/CaCl2 as solvent for the synthesis of poly(p-phenylene terephthalamide) (PPTA), a high-strength material when spun into a fiber.

Supported ionic liquid phases for the separation of samarium and europium in nitrate media: Towards purification of medical samarium-153
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors showed the possibility to separate samarium and europium efficiently by solvent extraction with the undiluted ionic liquid [A336][NO3] and converted the separation method to an extraction chromatography application, taking advantage of solid phase extraction techniques.
