TL;DR: In this paper , the 12 principles of circular hydrometallurgy are proposed for a more sustainable approach to hydronautic flowsheets, including regenerating reagents, close water loops, prevent waste, maximize mass, energy, space, and time efficiency, integrate materials and energy flows, safely dispose of potentially harmful elements, decrease activation energy, electrify processes wherever possible, use benign chemicals, reduce chemical diversity, implement real-time analysis and digital process control, and combine circular hydroallurgy with zero-waste mining.

Lanthanide(III) nosylates as new nitration catalysts
TL;DR: In this paper, the lanthanide(III) nosylates were used as catalysts for simple aromatic compounds, achieving good yields with 5-10% catalyst loading, achieving economic nitration.

Ethylenediaminetriacetic Acid-Functionalized Activated Carbon for the Adsorption of Rare Earths from Aqueous Solutions
TL;DR: In this article, a low-cost ethylenediaminetriacetic acid-functionalized activated carbon (EDTA-AC) was synthesized by anchoring N-[(3-trimethoxysilyl)propyl]ethylenediaminriacic acid (TMS-EDTA) to oxidized carbon (AC) to evaluate the feasibility of using this material for the recovery of rare earths from industrial wastewater, tailings and electronic waste, like batteries, magnets and lamp phosphors.
