Spectroscopic properties of Gd3+-doped fluorozirconate glass
TL;DR: In this article, the optical absorption and MCD spectrum of gadolinium-doped ZBLAN fluorozirconate glass were recorded at room temperature. And the induced electric dipole contributions to the experimental dipole strengths were parametrized in terms of phenomenological Judd-Ofelt intensity parameters.

Homogeneous liquid–liquid extraction of neodymium(III) by choline hexafluoroacetylacetonate in the ionic liquid choline bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide
TL;DR: A speciation study was performed to determine the stoichiometry of the extracted neodymium(III) complex and a plausible extraction mechanism is proposed, based on the use of thermomorphic solvent mixtures that has the advantage of forming a homogeneous phase during mixing.

Structure and mesomorphic behavior of alkoxy-substituted bis(phthalocyaninato)lanthanide(III) complexes
Koen Binnemans,Jurgen Sleven,Steven De Feyter,Frans C. De Schryver,Bertrand Donnio,Daniel Guillon +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of the lanthanide ion and the chain length on the thermal properties of bis[2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-octakis(alkoxy)phthalocyaninato]lanthanide(III) complexes, denoted in the following as [(CnH2n+1O)8Pc]2Ln, have been investigated.

Potential MRI contrast agents based on micellar incorporation of amphiphilic bis(alkylamide) derivatives of [(Gd-DTPA)(H2O)](2-)
Kristof Kimpe,Tatjana N. Parac-Vogt,Sophie Laurent,Corinne Piérart,Luce Vander Elst,Robert N. Muller,Koen Binnemans +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, DTPA-bisamide derivatives with alkyl chains containing 14, 16 and 18 carbon atoms were synthesized and complexes of various trivalent lanthanide ions (Ln = Gd, La, Pr, Eu) were formed.

Recovery of rare earths from industrial waste residues: a concise review
Koen Binnemans,Yiannis Pontikes,Peter Tom Jones,Tom Van Gerven,Bart Blanpain +4 more
- 01 Jan 2013
TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss the possibilities to recover rare earths from residues such as pyrometallurgical slags, bauxite residue (red mud), phosphogypsum, mine tailings and waste water.
