Polarized Luminescence from Aligned Samples of Nematogenic Lanthanide Complexes
Yury G. Galyametdinov,Yury G. Galyametdinov,Andrey A. Knyazev,Andrey A. Knyazev,Andrey A. Knyazev,Vagif I. Dzhabarov,Vagif I. Dzhabarov,Thomas Cardinaels,Kris Driesen,Christiane Görller-Walrand,Koen Binnemans +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a class of liquid-crystalline lanthanide-containing liquid crystals has been discovered. But the coordination geometries of the metal ion in f-block metallomesogens differ from those of the d block metallomeogens, in the sense that the coordination number of the lanthanides is high (typically eight or nine).
Rare-Earth-Containing Magnetic Liquid Crystals
Koen Binnemans,Yury G. Galyametdinov,Rik Van Deun,Duncan W. Bruce,Simon R. Collinson,Arkadiy Polishchuk,I. G. Bikchantaev,Wolfgang Haase,Andrey V. Prosvirin,L. M. Tinchurina,Igor Litvinov,Ajdar Gubajdullin,Ajdar Rakhmatullin,Koen Uytterhoeven,Luc Van Meervelt +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, rare earth-containing metallomesogens with 4-alkoxy-N-alkyl-2-hydroxybenzaldimine ligands are reported and the stoichiometry of the complexes is [Ln(LH)(3)(NO3)(3)], where Ln is the trivalent rare earth ion;(Y, La, and Pr to Lu, except Pm) and LH is the Schiff base.
Crosslinked anion exchange membranes prepared from poly(phenylene oxide) (PPO) for non-aqueous redox flow batteries
Yun Li,Jeroen Sniekers,Joao Corujo Branco Malaquias,Cédric Van Goethem,Koen Binnemans,Jan Fransaer,Ivo F.J. Vankelecom +6 more
TL;DR: A stable and eco-friendly anion-exchange membrane (AEM) was prepared and applied in a non-aqueous all-copper redox flow battery (RFB) as discussed by the authors.
Process development for hydrometallurgical recovery of valuable metals from sulfide-rich residue generated in a secondary lead smelter
Eun Young Kim,Eun Young Kim,Joris Roosen,Joris Roosen,Liesbeth Horckmans,Jeroen Spooren,Kris Broos,Koen Binnemans,Karl C. Vrancken,Karl C. Vrancken,Mieke Quaghebeur +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, two routes were investigated to selectively recover lead and minor metals (Cu, Ni, Zn) from a sulfide-rich lead smelter residue, matte.
On the color of the trivalent lanthanide ions
TL;DR: In this paper, the color of trivalent lanthanide ions is predicted based on the positions of the strongest bands in the absorption spectrum of a tri-valent lithium ion.
