Channel Optimization in Half Duplex Communications Systems is provided herein. Methods may include obtaining at a first terminal, radio frequency (RF) spectral information local to the first terminal, analyzing at the first terminal, RF spectral information for a second terminal that is not co-located with the first terminal, transmitting data to the second terminal on a second terminal optimal frequency band, and receiving data from the second terminal on the first terminal optimal frequency band, where the first terminal optimal frequency being based upon the RF spectral information local to the first terminal.

A dish antenna includes a parabolic circular reflector bounded by a side lobe shield that extends along a longitudinal axis of the dish antenna in a forward direction forming a front cavity, and a sidewall that extends along the longitudinal axis of the dish antenna in a rearward direction forming a rear cavity.

In this paper, one 3 £ 3 and one 5 £ 5 antenna arrays are studied. In each array, one probe-fed circularly polarized (CP) microstrip patch antenna is placed at the center as the driven antenna and is gapped coupled to the remaining elements. It is investigated that CP performance of the patch can be proved by properly arranging these parasitic elements. The driven patch is a perturbed square one with two diagonal corners truncated. The remaining elements are square patches slightly smaller than the driven patch. The proposed antennas have been constructed and measured. The 3£3 array has a measured gain of 7.7dBic with a 3dB axial ratio bandwidth of 3.3%. The 5 £ 5 array has a measured gain of 9.3dBic with a 3dB axial ratio bandwidth of 8.1%.

An antenna array includes a plurality of sub-arrays each having a plurality of linearly polarized antenna elements, with each antenna element having an orthogonal feed orientation with respect to its adjacent antenna elements, and at least two feed lines each connected by at least one sub-feed line to at least two antenna elements having orthogonal feed orientations such that each antenna element is equally and progressively phase rotated. The antenna elements in at least two separate lines of the array, such as array rows or columns, are connected to a separate feed line. The antenna elements may be aperture coupled microstrip patch elements having a single slot fed by one of the sub-feed lines or cross-slot elements fed by two sub-feed lines. The sub-feed lines in a separate row or column are power combined into either one or two feed lines and may be connected to a beamformer.

Wideband planar reconfigurable polarization antenna array

An aperture-coupled ring-antenna is presented in this communication. The antenna is fed by a microstrip line through a unique aperture configuration. The aperture contains a square slot ring with four short branch slots protruding toward the center of the ring. It is studied that axial-ratio and return-loss bandwidths of 8.7% centered at 2.53 GHz can be achieved. Within 2.42 GHz-2.64 GHz, the gains are all greater than 7 dBic.

In this paper, three circularly polarized arrays were studied. These arrays employ the SFHF element and are shown at a higher frequency range around 11.6 GHz. Each array is composed of elements which inherently have the effect of rotation in phase and in position.
