Coherence of road roughness in left and right wheel-path
TL;DR: In this paper, the coherence function between road roughness in left and right wheelpath is studied, and empirical coherence functions are computed from 20 measured roads, with a total length of 520 km.

Evaluation of stochastic models of parallel road tracks
TL;DR: In this paper, a comparison of measured parallel tracks and synthetic parallel tracks, realized from a stochastic model, is made by using a bootstrap technique to estimate the uncertainty of vehicle fatigue indicated for the measured profile.

Development of analysis tools and stochastic models of road profiles regarding their influence on heavy vehicle fatigue
TL;DR: In this article, road profiles are analyzed with focus on road characteristics essential for heavy vehicle fatigue assessment, and a new stochastic road model, with randomly placed and randomly shaped irregularities, is proposed.

Uncertainty of estimated rainflow damage for random loads
TL;DR: In this article, a new and simplified method to estimate the coefficient of variation for the accumulated damage when only one sample path of the load is available is presented, illustrated by means of stationary Gaussian loads with nine different spectra, a measured non-Gaussian load, a skewed load and the wave load accumulated during one year in a "seasonally changing environment".

Fatigue relevant road surface statistics
Klas Bogsjö,Anders Forsen +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a simple quarter-vehicle model in combination with the Palmgren-Miner damage hypothesis, Basquin's relation and Rainflow counting to assess vehicle fatigue.
