The disclosure provides a method and apparatus for noninvasive and minimally-invasive treatment of skin and subcutaneous tissues with ultrasound with or without nano- or microparticles. The treatment includes, but is not limited to, hair removal, skin rejuvenation (wrinkle removal), scar removal, treatment of spider veins and varicose veins, removal of birthmarks, acne treatment, wound treatment, abnormal pigmentation and stretch mark removal, abnormal tissues in skin and subcutaneous layers, and tattoo removal. Skin and subcutaneous tissues which can be treated with the methods described include, but are not limited to, the dermis, epidermis, subcutaneous fat, connective tissue, muscle tissue, blood vessels, scar tissues, tendons, and cartilage tissues, and abnormal tissues in skin and subcutaneous layers. The disclosure is especially applicable to hair removal and skin rejuvenation.

The present invention generally relates to compositions and methods for transdermal drug delivery. The compositions can be used in a variety of applications, including treating erectile dysfunction or sexual dysfunction, treating wounds, or causing or promoting hair growth. For example, in one aspect, the present invention is generally directed to compositions for delivery of nitric oxide, transdermally and/or to a mucosal surface. The composition may include nitric oxide. The nitric oxide may be present within a first phase comprising a lecithin, such as phosphatidylcholine. Thus, for example, a composition of the invention may exhibit a long shelf life, with little loss or reaction of nitric oxide. This may be particularly useful for certain applications such as consumer products, including those described herein. Other aspects of the present invention are generally directed to methods of making or using such compositions, methods of promoting such compositions, kits including such compositions, or the like.

A phototherapy light cap is a flexible, generally hemispherical cap having a light source to supply suitable dosage requirements of current and future light therapies. The topical scalp and transdermal preparation is prepared by incorporating the cyclosporin derivative into a liposome, microcapsule, micro-sphere, composite particle or emulsion, capable of being employed as a hair growth stimulating agent and applied for the prevention of hair loss.
