This handbook looks to provide academics and students with a comprehensive and holistic understanding of the phenomenon of innovation. Innovation spans a number of fields within the social sciences and humanities: Management, Economics, Geography, Sociology, Politics, Psychology, and History. Consequently, the rapidly increasing body of literature on innovation is characterized by a multitude of perspectives based on, or cutting across, existing disciplines and specializations. Scholars of innovation can come from such diverse starting points that much of this literature can be missed, and so constructive dialogues missed. The editors of The Oxford Handbook of Innovation have carefully selected and designed twenty-one contributions from leading academic experts within their particular field, each focusing on a specific aspect of innovation. These have been organized into four main sections, the first of which looks at the creation of innovations, with particular focus on firms and networks. Section Two provides an account of the wider systematic setting influencing innovation and the role of institutions and organizations in this context. Section Three explores some of the diversity in the working of innovation over time and across different sectors of the economy, and Section Four focuses on the consequences of innovation with respect to economic growth, international competitiveness, and employment. Innovation and employment: process versus product innovation [Book Review]

This study aims to identify the effect of entrepreneurial orientation and organizational culture on organizational innovation and organizational performance among small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on the creative industry which is supporting tourism in Indonesia.,A quantitative approach was used to distribute questionnaires using a purposive sampling technique to 183 SME’s owners of the creative industry that produce and trade the products directly to the customers. A partial least square (PLS) was conducted to analyze the data.,Entrepreneurial orientation and organizational culture have a significant effect on innovation, which in turn, influences the performance. Interestingly, innovation does not have a significant influence on performance as well as does not mediate the influence between entrepreneurial orientation and organizational performance.,The issue of innovation in this study was measured by many indicators that reflected the organizational innovation. Enhancing small and medium enterprises performance through innovation in Indonesia: A framework for creative industries supporting tourism

Governments, companies, universities, institutes, and individuals all over the world have prioritized innovation on their agenda and some have declared innovation as a strategic goal, but for a few of them, innovation has been a way of life. Organizational development depends on human capabilities more than ever. Not just intellectual, emotional, executive, experiential, and physical quotients of human capacity, but also creative, spiritual, passionate, motivational, and social quotients now need to be considered. When an invention is valued, it becomes an innovation. Although, innovation began with human, it is hard to pinpoint the first inventor in history. Transformation from a learning organization to a thinking organization is needed to be able to sustain innovative culture. At this point, the hard question is how? A smart, creative and dynamic innovation culture will help organizations to see the value of invention. In this study, a brief review is first made on the historical backgrounds of universities, institutes, industrial revolutions, and management systems in order to understand the evolution of the concept of innovation. Then, IVALUE7, a management model for dynamic, smart innovation organizational culture , will be introduced and discussed.

A model for innovation culture management in organizations (ivalue 7)

This research delved into the intricate causal relationships between Management Control Systems (MCS), Dynamic Capabilities (DC), Sustainable Performance (SP), and the pivotal Open Innovation Strategy (OIS) within the challenging context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Employing a rigorous statistical analysis and leveraging a partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) approach, the study meticulously examined the structural model and rigorously tested its hypotheses. The data harnessed for this investigation emanated from online surveys administered to executives and managers affiliated with 3-star and higher-rated hotels in southern Thailand, resulting in a sample size of 151 respondents. The outcome of the statistical analysis, conducted at a significance level of 0.01, conspicuously underlined the paramount role played by the Open Innovation Strategy (OIS) in influencing Sustainable Performance (SP), closely trailed by Dynamic Capabilities (DC) and Management Control Systems (MCS), in a distinct order. These statistically significant results unequivocally corroborated the acceptance of all six research hypotheses, which encapsulated the intricate interplay between MCS and DC, SP, and OIS, as well as the intricate relationships between DC, OIS, and SP. The research outcomes paint a compelling picture, underscoring that in the face of crises, the strategic adoption of open innovation strategies, complemented by an effective management control system and dynamic capabilities, empowers businesses to effectively navigate and endure crises while sustaining operational performance. 

Exploring the effect of management control systems on dynamic capabilities and sustainability performance: The role of open innovation strategy amidst COVID-19

Purpose: The Main purpose of this paper is to determine the critical success factors of innovation and highlighting the effect of these factors on organizational innovation. Design/Methodology: A quantitative research (Structural equation modeling SEM) was employed to explore the causal relationships among constructs in the proposed research model. A total of 120 managers and employees of Algerian Pharmaceutical Company were surveyed. Findings: The research results indicate that Organizational Culture has a strong and positive significant effect on Organizational Innovation; also Organizational Structure can positively and significantly affect the Organizational Innovation. In addition, the Human Resource Practice has a significantly positive effect on Organizational Innovation. Originality/Value: This study provides empirical evidence for the importance of success factors on Organizational Innovation improvement. Moreover this research can be added to innovation literature as it expanded the success factors as a catalyst for the creation of innovation in the work environment.

Presenting a model of critical success factors for organizational innovation in Algerian Pharmaceutical Company

The aim of this paper is to analyze the relationship between the openness degree of companies and organizational innovation. The openness degree is defined as the use of purposive inflows and outflows of knowledge to accelerate internal Innovation, and to expend markets for external use of innovation ( Chesbrough, 2006 ). The research utilizes causality models and suggests a conceptual schema subsequent to a comprehensive analysis of the literature linked to open innovation field. A sample of 120 managers and employees of Algerian pharmaceutical company is used. The SEM is used to analyze and approve the proposal of the conceptual schema. Results of the empirical research show that open innovation is positively and significantly related to organizational innovation , on the other hand, these results indicate that there is a positive and significant impact of organizational innovation on organizational performance .
