Direct tissue blot immunoassay for detection of Xylella fastidiosa in olive trees
TL;DR: DTBIA is a valid alternative to ELISA in large-scale surveys for occurrence of X. fastidiosa and the printing of membranes directly in the field prevents infections spreading to Xylella -free areas, through movement of plant material with pathogen vectors for laboratory testing.

Attempts to eradicate graft-transmissible infections through somatic embryogenesis in Citrus ssp. and analysis of genetic stability of regenerated plants
Malika Meziane,Dajana Frasheri,Angela Carra,Messaoud Boudjeniba,Anna Maria D’Onghia,Francesco Mercati,Khaled Djelouah,Francesco Carimi +7 more
TL;DR: Stigma/style somatic embryogenesis (SE) was applied on 13 genotypes, belonging to the Algerian germplasm collection of two different Citrus species infected by one or more graft-transmissible agents, to evaluate the genetic stability and the sanitation of regenerants.

East Adriatic--a reservoir region of severe Citrus tristeza virus strains
Silvija Černi,Dijana Škorić,Jelena Ruščić,Mladen Krajačić,Tatjana Papic,Khaled Djelouah,Gustavo Nolasco +6 more
TL;DR: The genetic variability of CTV was studied on nineteen citrus samples collected from orchards in the coastal region of Croatia, Montenegro and Albania that previously tested positive by ELISA and immunocapture RT-PCR, and confirmed by biological characterisation.

Biological characterization of Citrus tristeza virus monophyletic isolates with respect to p25 gene
Katarina Hančević,Silvija Černi,Gustavo Nolasco,Tomislav Radić,Khaled Djelouah,Dijana Škorić +5 more
TL;DR: The results showed that tested CTV-isolates varied in their ability to induced symptoms as well as in severity of symptoms e.g. pathogenicity.

First report of the Citrus tristeza virus resistance-breaking strain in Morocco
Mohamed Afechtal,Mohamed Afechtal,Anna Maria D’Onghia,Giuseppe E. Massimino Cocuzza,Khaled Djelouah +4 more
TL;DR: To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is the first report of CTV P. trifoliata RB strain in Morocco, and the relative sequences showed highest nucleotide identity with the RB strain.
