Rhodium-Coordinated Poly(arylene-ethynylene)-alt-Poly(arylene- vinylene) Copolymer Acting as Photocatalyst for Visible-Light- Powered NAD + /NADH Reduction
Kerstin Oppelt,Jacek Gasiorowski,Daniel A. M. Egbe,Jan Philipp Kollender,Markus Himmelsbach,Achim Walter Hassel,Niyazi Serdar Sariciftci,Günther Knör +7 more
TL;DR: A polymer-based catalyst system can be repeatedly used under different reaction conditions for (photo)chemical reduction of NAD+.

Photocatalytic Reduction of Artificial and Natural Nucleotide Co-factors with a Chlorophyll-Like Tin-Dihydroporphyrin Sensitizer
Kerstin Oppelt,Eva Wöß,Martin Stiftinger,Wolfgang Schöfberger,Wolfgang Buchberger,Günther Knör +5 more
TL;DR: An efficient photocatalytic two-electron reduction and protonation of nicotine amide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) as well as the synthetic nucleotide co-factor analogue N-benzyl-3-carbamoyl-pyridinium (BNAD+), powered by photons in the long-wavelength region of visible light (λirr > 610 nm), is demonstrated for the first time.
52
Photobiocatalytic alcohol oxidation using LED light sources
TL;DR: In this paper, the photocatalytic oxidation of NADH using a flavin photocatalyst and a simple blue LED light source is reported, which enables very significant reductions in energy consumption and CO2 emission.
49
Biscoumarin-containing acenes as stable organic semiconductors for photocatalytic oxygen reduction to hydrogen peroxide
Marek K. Węcławski,Marie Jakešová,Marie Jakešová,Martyna Charyton,Nicola Demitri,Beata Koszarna,Kerstin Oppelt,Serdar N. Sariciftci,Daniel T. Gryko,Eric Daniel Głowacki +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors predicted that conversion of solar energy into chemical energy in the form of hydrogen peroxide and other reactive oxygen species has been predicted to be an efficient strategy.
Systematic Investigation of Porphyrin-Thiophene Conjugates for Ternary Bulk Heterojunction Solar Cells
Wittawat Keawsongsaeng,Jacek Gasiorowski,Patrick Denk,Kerstin Oppelt,Dogukan Hazar Apaydin,Rojrit Rojanathanes,Kurt Hingerl,Markus C. Scharber,Niyazi Serdar Sariciftci,Patchanita Thamyongkit +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, a family of porphyrins and benzoporphyrin derivatives bearing phenyl, thiophenyl, or bithiohenyl groups at their meso-positions are synthesized and systematically investigated for their potential use in bulk heterojunction solar cells (BHJ-SCs).
