Twisting light by nonlinear photonic crystals.
TL;DR: The observation of nonlinear interactions in quadratic nonlinear crystals having a geometrically twisted susceptibility pattern is reported, finding that the quasi-angular-momentum of these crystals is imprinted on the interacting photons during the nonlinear process so that the total angular momentum is conserved.

Azimuthal and radial shaping of vortex beams generated in twisted nonlinear photonic crystals.
TL;DR: It is experimentally demonstrated that the orbital angular momentum (OAM) of a second harmonic beam, generated within twisted nonlinear photonic crystals, depends both on the OAM of the input pump beam and on the quasi-angular momentum of the crystal.
Optical fiber point sensors based on forward Brillouin scattering.
Keren Shemer,Gil Bashan,Elad Zehavi,H. Hagai Diamandi,Alon Bernstein,Kavita Sharma,Yosef London,David Barrera,Salvador Sales,Arik Bergman,Avi Zadok +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors reported a forward Brillouin scattering point-sensor in a commercially available, off-the-shelf multi-core fiber, which is used to stimulate a guided acoustic mode of the entire fiber cross-section.

Distributed chemical detection outside standard coated fibers using Brillouin optical time domain analysis of cladding modes spectra
Elad Zehavi,Alon Bernstein,Gil Bashan,H. Hagai Diamandi,Kavita Sharma,Yosef London,Mirit Hen,Keren Shemer,Andrei A. Stolov,Jie Li,Avi Zadok +10 more
TL;DR: In this article , a spatially distributed analysis of cladding mode spectra in a standard, off-the-shelf coated fiber is presented, which is used to detect and monitor the local immersion of a fiber section in acetone.

Forward Brillouin Point Sensor in a Multi-Core Fiber
Keren Shemer,Gil Bashan,Elad Zehavi,Hilel Hagai Diamandi,Alon Bernstein,Kavita Sharma,Yosef London,David Barrera,Salvador Sales,Avi Zadok +9 more
- 01 Jan 2022
TL;DR: In this article , the forward Brillouin point sensing is demonstrated in a multi-core fiber with a grating in one core and acoustic waves are stimulated by light in another core.
