Real experiences of uHTS: a prototypic 1536-well fluorescence anisotropy-based uHTS screen and application of well-level quality control procedures.
Sandra Turconi,Kerry Shea,Stephen Ashman,Kenneth Fantom,David L. Earnshaw,Ryan P. Bingham,Ulrich Haupts,Murray J. B. Brown,Andrew J. Pope +8 more
TL;DR: Overall, the data demonstrate that fluorescence anisotropy-based uHTS is now a practical reality, and well-level quality control procedures were developed to detect, eliminate, or even correct for such effects.

The characterisation of novel secreted Ly-6 proteins from rat urine by the combined use of two-dimensional gel electrophoresis, microbore high performance liquid chromatography and expressed sequence tag data.
Christopher Southan,Paul Cutler,Helen C. Birrell,John Connell,Kenneth Fantom,Sims Matthew A,Narjis Shaikh,Klaus Schneider +7 more
TL;DR: A proteomic study of rat urine was undertaken using two‐dimensional gel electrophoresis, microbore high performance liquid chromatographhy, mass spectrometry and N‐terminal sequencing, which established signal peptide removal and provided evidence for N‐glycosylation.

Effects of Substrate and Inhibitor Binding on Proteolysis of Isoleucyl-tRNA Synthetase from Staphylococcus aureus
TL;DR: Inhibitor (and substrate) binding could be reproducibly assessed in the absence of measurements of catalytic acitvity, and could potentially form the basis of novel screening assays for ligands to other proteins.

Disposable microbore high-pressure liquid chromatography columns for protein and peptide separations.
TL;DR: A range of high-performance liquid chromatography columns with internal diameters of 0.25 to 1.8 mm have been constructed by securing glass or plastic tubing into standard HPLC fittings and shown to be effective in a conventional HPLC instrument for peptide and protein separations in reverse-phase mode and for proteins in ion-exchange and size-exclusion modes.
