Evolution of Campanula Flowers in Relation to Insect Pollinators on Islands
Ken Inoue,Masayuki Maki,Michiko Masuda +2 more
- 01 Jan 1996
TL;DR: The theory predicts that the number of species on an island will decrease with distance from the mainland and that species with greater colonizing ability are more likely to establish on a given island as mentioned in this paper.

Life history and demographic features of Aster kantoensis, an endangered local endemic of floodplains
TL;DR: Demographic parameters obtained for the studied period indicate a decline of the subpopulations of A. kantoensis, a monocarpic perennial with 2- to 4-year vegetative growth phase before flowering that is a local endemic on floodplains of a few rivers in eastern central Japan.

Aster kantoensis Kitam., an endangered flood plain endemic plant in Japan: Its ability to form persistent soil seed banks
TL;DR: To break the extinction vortex in which the species has been involved, human-aided seed dispersal to safe-sites is proposed in order to strengthen the conservation of this threatened species.

A Conservation Biology of Aster kantoensis Growing along the Tama River
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the behavior of a Girdhar and his gang of Grikkers in the following scenarios: 1) Grikhar et al. this paper

Evolution of Mating Systems in Island Populations of Campanula microdonta: Pollinator Availability Hypothesis
TL;DR: A hypothesis is proposed that the mean and variance of pollinator availability together with inbreeding depression could explain the observed patterns of mating system as the results of evolution.
