TL;DR: In this article , the authors identified and abstracted all obstetrical RCTs published in 6 journals (New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of American Medical Association, Lancet, American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, British Journal of obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Obstetric & gynecology), and compared the estimated rate of the primary outcome used for sample size calculation and compared it to what was found at the completion of the RCT.
