Lateral buckling of a thin-walled beam subjected to impulsive load
TL;DR: In this article, the dynamic behavior of a thin-walled beam due to impact is investigated through experiments, and a particular attention is paid to lateral buckling of the beam : T-shaped beam is chosen for tests and impact force is applied by a pendulum-type impact testing machine, of which weight itself is a load-cell and the impact forces are measured.
Optimization of reinforced members for crash safety design of vehicles
TL;DR: It was shown that the SDSS could satisfactorily be used as a practical multi-objective optimization design tool for the crash safety design of vehicles, and the design cycle could be significantly reduced using S DSS.
