Sodium acetate-mediated inhibition of histone deacetylase alleviates hepatic lipid dysregulation and its accompanied injury in streptozotocin-nicotinamide-induced diabetic rats.
TL;DR: The study demonstrates that diabetes mellitus drives hepatic lipotoxicity, characterised with lipid accumulation, excessive lipid peroxidation, pro-inflammation, depleted glutathione content and accompanied by increased HDAC activity and suggests that acetate ameliorates diabetes-associated hepaticlipotoxicity through HDAC suppression and enhancement of insulin sensitivity.
Acetate ameliorates nephrotoxicity in streptozotocin-nicotinamide-induced diabetic rats: Involvement of xanthine oxidase activity.

TL;DR: In this article, the hypothesis that acetate would ameliorate renal toxicity, accompanying diabetes mellitus, possibly by suppression of xanthine oxidase (XO) activity was investigated.
Acetate restores hypothalamic-adipose kisspeptin status in a rat model of PCOS by suppression of NLRP3 immunoreactivity
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that PCOS is characterized with hypothalamic-adipose inflammation, associated with immunohistochemical expression of NLRP3 with significant alteration of hypothalamic but not adipose kisspeptin, and acetate restoreskisspeptin status in PCOS animals.
Inhibition of pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase-4 by l-glutamine protects pregnant rats against fructose-induced obesity and hepatic lipid accumulation.
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that obesity and hepatic lipid accumulation induced by fructose in pregnant rats is accompanied by increased PDK-4 and the findings suggest that l-glutamine would protect against obesity and hepatoprotective role of l- glutamine is through suppression of PDk-4.
O75 inhibition of pcsk9/nfat ameliorates cardiac dysmetabolism and fibrosis in experimental rat model of pcos by reducing atherogenic lipid and improving insulin sensitivity
Kehinde S. Olaniyi,Stephanie E. Areloegbe,Lawrence Areloegbe +2 more
TL;DR: This study investigates PCSK9/NFAT's role in PCOS-associated cardiometabolic syndrome and finds that sodium butyrate treatment reduces atherogenic lipid, improves insulin sensitivity, and alleviates cardiac dysmetabolism, fibrosis, and inflammation in an experimental rat model of PCOS.
