Influencing factors of trust in consumer-to-consumer electronic commerce with gender and age

Purpose: This study explores factors that influence consumer’s purchase intention at three consumer-to-consumer (C2C) e-commerce companies in Indonesia. Design/methodology/approach: 5 Expert opinions are used to determine the indicators of each factor and the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) method is used to analyze the empirical data of  400 respondents for each company. Findings: It is found different significant factors that influence customer’s purchase intention in each company. Trust and risk are found to be significantly effect purchase intention in Company A. Meanwhile, the other two companies, perceived usefulness proved to be significant in Company B and benefit significantly effect consumer purchase intention in Company C. Originality/value: This study represents purchase intention in the consumer-to-consumer e-commerce by investigating three case study using technology acceptance model as a guiding theory.

A bidirectional perspective of trust and risk in determining factors that influence mobile app installation

Trust plays an important role in online purchasing. Trust issues that arise in online purchasing occur since consumers cannot verify the product directly. This study aims to analyze the antecedents of trust in terms of online purchase decision and analyze the effect of trust on online purchase decision. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling. The total sample of 120 respondents in Jakarta was obtained through the distribution of online questionnaires. The data analysis method used in this study is Partial Least Square (PLS). The results show that brand image and security are the antecedents of trust which have a significant positive effect on trust. The results show that perceived risk is the antecedent of trust which has a significant negative effect on trust. The results also show that consumer trust has a significant positive effect on online purchase decision.

This study aims to examine the determinants of purchase intention in C2C e-commerce. Specifically the role of instant messaging in the C2C e-commerce contextis investigated. In addition to instant messaging, we brought in two antecedents of purchase intention trust and customer satisfaction to establish a theoretical research model. Structural equation modeling using LISREL was used to analyze the data.We discussed the research findings and suggested some implications for researchers and practitioners. Exploring the Roles of Social Exchanges in Using Information Systems

Cognizant of the fact that enterprise systems involve organizational change and their implementation is over shadowed by a high failure rate, it is argued that there is the need to focus attention on employees’ perceptions of such organizational change when explaining adoption behavior of enterprise systems. For this purpose, the research incorporates a conceptual constructo fattitude toward change that captures views about the need for organizational change. Centered on this conceptual construct, the research model includes beliefs regarding the system and behavioral intention as its consequences, and the personal characteristics of organizational commitment and perceived personal competence as its antecedents. Structural equation analysis using LISREL provides significant support for the proposed relationships. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed along with limitations.
