One-step, simultaneous triple endoscopic nasobiliary drainage for hilar biliary stricture
Kazumichi Kawakubo,Hiroyuki Isayama,Suguru Mizuno,Kenji Hirano,Natsuyo Yamamoto,Naminatsu Takahara,Koji Miyabayashi,Dai Mohri,Takashi Sasaki,Hirofumi Kogure,Naoki Sasahira,Minoru Tada,Kazuhiko Koike +12 more
TL;DR: One‐step simultaneous triple ENBD is the most suitable drainage method for patients with advanced hilar biliary obstruction, especially in the setting of acute cholangitis due to occlusion of the previously placed stent.
Elevated Plasma Fibrinogen Levels Are Associated with a Poor Prognosis in Patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Akiyoshi Kinoshita,Hiroshi Onoda,Nami Imai,Akira Iwaku,Mutumi Oishi,Ken Tanaka,Nao Fushiya,Kazuhiko Koike,Hirokazu Nishino,Masato Matsushima,Hisao Tajiri +10 more
TL;DR: This study demonstrates that elevated pretreatment plasma fibrinogen levels are associated with tumor progression and are independently associated with a poor prognosis in patients with HCC.
Genomic profiles of colorectal carcinoma with liver metastases and newly identified fusion genes.
Takafumi Oga,Yoshihiro Yamashita,Manabu Soda,Shinya Kojima,Toshihide Ueno,Masahito Kawazu,Nobuaki Suzuki,Hiroaki Nagano,Shoichi Hazama,Masashi Izumiya,Kazuhiko Koike,Hiroyuki Mano +11 more
TL;DR: Signaling pathways linked to such “LM‐associated” genes were overrepresented for extracellular matrix‐receptor interaction or focal adhesion, and fusions of the ADAP1 (ArfGAP with dual PH domain 1) were newly identified in a cohort of patients, which activated ARF6, anADAP1‐substrate.
Increased serum autotaxin levels in hepatocellular carcinoma patients were caused by background liver fibrosis but not by carcinoma.
Mayuko Kondo,Takeaki Ishizawa,Kenichiro Enooku,Yasunori Tokuhara,Ryunosuke Ohkawa,Baasanjav Uranbileg,Hayato Nakagawa,Ryosuke Tateishi,Haruhiko Yoshida,Norihiro Kokudo,Kazuhiko Koike,Yutaka Yatomi,Hitoshi Ikeda +12 more
TL;DR: The increase in serum ATX levels in HCC patients may not be caused by abundant ATX production in H CC tissues but by fibrosis in the background livers.
Risk factors for post-ERCP pancreatitis in wire-guided cannulation for therapeutic biliary ERCP
Yousuke Nakai,Hiroyuki Isayama,Naoki Sasahira,Hirofumi Kogure,Takashi Sasaki,Natsuyo Yamamoto,Kei Saito,Gyotane Umefune,Dai Akiyama,Shuhei Kawahata,Miho Matsukawa,Tomotaka Saito,Tsuyoshi Hamada,Naminatsu Takahara,Suguru Mizuno,Koji Miyabayashi,Dai Mohri,Kenji Hirano,Minoru Tada,Kazuhiko Koike +19 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the incidence and risk factors of post-ERCP pancreatitis (PEP) in WGC using a single-center retrospective study and found that unintentional guidewire insertion and contrast material injection into the pancreatic duct during cannulation occurred in 553% and 218%, respectively.
