Effects of pore size on the photocatalytic activity of mesoporous TiO 2 prepared by a sol–gel process
TL;DR: The photocatalytic activity was evaluated by the degradation of methylene blue under UV irradiation as mentioned in this paper, which showed that the sample with large pore sizes and wide pore size distribution showed higher photocatalysis activity.

Template-free synthesis of TiO2 microspheres with tunable particle size via a non-aqueous sol–gel process
Kay He,Gaoling Zhao,Gaorong Han +2 more
TL;DR: In this article, the diameter of TiO2 microspheres in the range of 0.4-2.9 μm was controlled by the ratio of methanol in the solvent.

Synthesis of nickel hydroxychloride microspheres via a facile template-free process and their conversion to β-Ni(OH)2 microspheres
Kay He,Gaoling Zhao,Gaorong Han +2 more
TL;DR: Hierarchical flower-like nickel hydroxychloride microspheres were prepared by forced hydrolysis reaction of nickel chloride hexahydrate in ethanol via a facile template-free solvothermal process.

Size-controlled synthesis of hematite mesocrystals
TL;DR: In this paper, size-controlled hematite mesocrystals were prepared by forced hydrolysis of FeCl3 via a facile hydrothermal process, and the particle size of the hematites were well-controlled by the ratio of ethanol to water.

Top-down synthesis of sponge-like Mn3O4 at low temperature
TL;DR: In this paper, a top-down synthetic method was developed for the fabrication of sponge-like Mn3O4 composed of Mn 3O4 nanocrystals by decomposition of manganese formate at 200 °C.
