Acute Effects Using Light-Emitting Diode Therapy (LEDT) for Muscle Function during Isometric Exercise in Asthma Patients: A Pilot Study.
Ivan Peres Costa,Fabiano Politti,Lawrence P. Cahalin,Etiene Farah Teixeira de Carvalho,Dirceu Costa,João Carlos Ferrari Corrêa,Rodolfo de Paula Vieira,Manoel Carneiro Oliveira-Junior,Kátia De Angelis,Roberto Stirbulov,Simone Dal Corso,Paulo De Tarso De Carvalho,Nivaldo Antonio Parizotto,Ross Arena,Luciana Maria Malosá Sampaio +14 more
TL;DR: A single application of LEDT in the parameters and dose according to the equipment used in the study were not able to promote differences in the time of contraction and the fatigue response in asthmatic patients.
Bicycling for transportation improves heart rate variability in young adults.
Henrique M. P. Bueno,Michelle Sartori,Hidalina R. Macedo,Ivana C. Moraes-Silva,Federico Aletti,Maria Claudia Irigoyen,Kátia De Angelis +6 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that bicycling regularly used as a means of transport is able to improve cardiovascular autonomic modulation, thus reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Neurovascular and Hemodynamic Responses to Mental Stress and Exercise in Severe COVID-19 Survivors.
D. J. Faria,Renata Junqueira Moll-Bernardes,Laura Testa,Camila Motta Venchiarutti Moniz,Erika de Carvalho Rodrigues,José Maurício Sc Mota,F. Souza,Maria Janieire N. N. Alves,João Eduardo Izaias,Vera Maria Cury Salemi,Camila P. Jordão,Kátia De Angelis,Daniel H. Craighead,Matthew J. Rossman,Fernanda Marciano Consolim-Colombo,Maria C. Irigoyen,Douglas R. Seals,Carlos Eduardo Negrão,Allan Robson Kluser Sales +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors found that severe COVID-19 survivors exhibit an exaggerated MSNA and blunted vasodilatory response to mental challenge compared to healthy adults, while the neurovascular response to handgrip exercise is preserved.

Influence of the number of sets in cardiovascular and autonomic adjustments to resistance exercise in physically active men
TL;DR: BP reduction was associated with higher number of sets, but not with reduction in HR and/or cardiac sympathetic modulation in RE practitioners.
ACE gene dosage determines additional autonomic dysfunction and increases renal angiotensin II levels in diabetic mice
Oscar A Moraes,Karin Flues,Kátia Bilhar Scapini,Cristiano Mostarda,Fabiana S. Evangelista,Bruno Rodrigues,Daniela Ravizzoni Dartora,Patricia Fiorino,Kátia De Angelis,Maria Claudia Irigoyen +9 more
TL;DR: Data indicates that a small increase in angiotensin-converting enzyme activity in diabetic animals leads to greater impairment of autonomic function, as demonstrated by increased sympathetic modulation and reduced cardiac vagal modulation along with increased renal expression of Ang II.
