Automatic fault detection for laser powder-bed fusion using semi-supervised machine learning
TL;DR: The results show that semi-supervised learning is a promising approach for the automatic certification of AM builds that can be implemented at a fraction of the cost currently required.

Permittivity enhancement of hafnium dioxide high-κ films by cerium doping
Paul R. Chalker,Matthew Werner,Simon Romani,Richard J. Potter,Kate Black,Helen C. Aspinall,Anthony C. Jones,Cezhou Zhao,Stephen Taylor,Peter Nicholas Heys +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of cerium doping on the dielectric properties of hafnium dioxide was reported, and thin films of thin cerium-doped HaF oxide Cex-Hf1−xO2 (x=0.10,0.34) were grown by liquid injection atomic layer deposition and all films were transformed from an amorphous state into stabilized cubic or tetragonal phase.

Ce(IV) Complexes with Donor-Functionalized Alkoxide Ligands: Improved Precursors for Chemical Vapor Deposition of CeO2
Helen C. Aspinall,John Bacsa,Anthony C. Jones,J. S. Wrench,Kate Black,Paul R. Chalker,Peter J. King,Paul A. Marshall,Matthew Werner,Hywel O. Davies,Rajesh Odedra +10 more
TL;DR: The synthesis of a series of homoleptic and heteroleptic Ce(IV) complexes with donor-functionalized alkoxide ligands, found to be excellent precursors for liquid-injection MOCVD of CeO(2), depositing high purity thin films with very low carbon contamination.

Deposition of ZrO2 and HfO2 thin films by liquid injection MOCVD and ALD using ansa-metallocene zirconium and hafnium precursors
Kate Black,Helen C. Aspinall,Anthony C. Jones,Katarzyna Przybylak,John Bacsa,Paul R. Chalker,Stephen Taylor,Cezhou Zhao,Simon D. Elliott,Aleksandra Zydor,Peter Nicholas Heys +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the crystal structures of the new complexes 2 and 3 have been determined and they are shown to be mononuclear and isostructural to complex 1, containing a chelating [Cp2CMe2] ligand leading to a pseudo-four-coordinate distorted tetrahedral geometry around the central Zr or Hf atom, in agreement with structures from Density Functional Theory.

γ-Al2O3 nanoparticle production by arc-discharge in water: in situ discharge characterization and nanoparticle investigation
D. Delaportas,Panagiotis Svarnas,I Alexandrou,I Alexandrou,Angeliki Siokou,Kate Black,James W. Bradley +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, γ-Al2O3 crystalline nanoparticles (NPs) were produced by the arc-discharge in water method by simultaneously recording the voltage and current waveforms, emitted light intensity and time-resolved optical emission spectra and snapshots of the discharge.
