TL;DR: Assessing elution of vancomycin, daptomycin, and tobramycin from Palacos LV (Palacos), Stryker Surgical Simplex P (Simplex), BIOMET Cobalt HV (Cobalt), and Zimmer Biomet Bone Cement R (Zimmer) radiopaque bone cements yielded results that may assist the surgeon in choosing different cement formulations for the local delivery of antibiotics.

Complications in diabetic patients undergoing revision total joint arthroplasty
TL;DR: It is suggested that diabetics with better glycemic control tend to have fewer complications and patients undergoing revision arthroplasty appear to be at a higher risk of developing infections, periprosthetic fractures, and rare events than nondiabetics.

The Alpha-Defensin Prosthetic Joint Infection Test Has Poor Validity for Native Knee Joint Infection.
TL;DR: In this paper, the Synovasure PJI test was used to distinguish septic from inflammatory or crystalline arthropathy in the native knee and found that it had 100% specificity for septic arthritis coupled with a 28% false-positive rate when applied to native knee aspirations.
