CagA protein seropositivity in a random sample of adult population and gastric cancer patients in Estonia
Tamara Vorobjova,Ingrid Nilsson,Karl Kull,H I Maaroos,Antonello Covacci,Torkel Wadström,Raivo Uibo +6 more
TL;DR: High seropositivity of Helicobacter pylori infection was similarly high in the Estonian random adult population sample and in GC patients, however, the prevalence of anti-CagA IgG was significantly higher inGC patients.

Polymorphisms in tumour necrosis factor and adhesion molecule genes in patients with inflammatory bowel disease: associations with HLA-DR and -DQ alleles and subclinical markers.
TL;DR: TNF2 and HLA-DRB1*15 alleles were associated with ANCA-positive UC in the investigated population, suggesting that ANCA might be a useful marker, at least in some ethnic groups, for dividing IBD patients into genetically more homogeneous subgroups.

Factors influencing survival of patients after radical surgery for gastric cancer : a regional study of 406 patients over a 10-year period
Andrus Arak,Karl Kull +1 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that gastrectomy with combined resections of neighbouring organs directly invaded and with extensive lymphadenectomy at least up to the second node group might be the procedure of choice for advanced gastric cancer.

Antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies in Estonian patients with inflammatory bowel disease. Prevalence and diagnostic role.
TL;DR: Although the prevalence of ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease in Estonia is much lower than in European countries, there seem to be no differences in the presence of Antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA).

Response of IgG1 and IgG2 subclasses to Helicobacter pylori in subjects with chronic inflammation of the gastric mucosa, atrophy and gastric cancer in a country with high Helicobacter pylori infection prevalence†
Tamara Vorobjova,Zhigang Ren,Margaret Dunkley,Robert Clancy,Heidi-Ingrid Maaroos,Rait Labotkin,Karl Kull,Raivo Uibo +7 more
TL;DR: Atrophic gastritis and gastric cancer were associated with a significant decline in IgG and IgG1 response to H. pylori, and higher value of CagA antibodies was seen in Gastric cancer and in gastric atrophy compared with nonatrophic gast arthritis.
