Angiotensin-(1–7) enhances LTP in the hippocampus through the G-protein-coupled receptor Mas
TL;DR: It is shown for the first time that Ang-(1-7) enhances long-term potentiation (LTP) in the CA1 region of the hippocampus, and the existence of a distinct Ang-protein-coupled receptor Mas, encoded by the Mas protooncogene, is identified.

HPV16 E7 oncogene expression in normal human epithelial cells causes molecular changes indicative of an epithelial to mesenchymal transition.
TL;DR: Changes in expression levels of EMT-associated proteins are not similarly reflected at the level of mRNA expression, suggesting that HPV16 oncoproteins also modulate EMT through non-transcriptional mechanisms, and may contribute to malignant progression through EMT induction.

Human Papillomaviruses As Therapeutic Targets in Human Cancer
Karin Hellner,Karl Münger +1 more
TL;DR: It has been estimated that there will be no measurable decline of HPV-associated cervical cancers before 2040, and therapeutic efforts to combat high-risk HPV- associated disease remain of critical importance.
Tuning microtubule dynamics to enhance cancer therapy by modulating FER-mediated CRMP2 phosphorylation.

Mangala,Charlotte Taylor,Juliet Goldsmith,Ming Wang,Kenta Masuda,Mohammad KaramiNejadRanjbar,David Mannion,Fabrizio Miranda,Sandra Herrero-Gonzalez,Karin Hellner,Fiona Chen,Abdulkhaliq Alsaadi,Ashwag Albukhari,Ashwag Albukhari,Donatien Chedom Fotso,Christopher Yau,Dahai Jiang,Sunila Pradeep,Cristian Rodriguez-Aguayo,Gabriel Lopez-Berestein,Stefan Knapp,Stefan Knapp,Nathanael S. Gray,Leticia Campo,Kevin A. Myers,Sunanda Dhar,David J. P. Ferguson,Robert C. Bast,Anil K. Sood,Frank von Delft,Frank von Delft,Ahmed Ashour Ahmed +33 more
TL;DR: It is shown that CRMP2 induces micro Tubule bundling and that this activity is regulated by the FER kinase, thus providing a rationale for targeting FER in combination with microtubule-targeting drugs.
Variability of genome-wide DNA methylation and mRNA expression profiles in reproductive and endocrine disease related tissues.
Nilufer Rahmioglu,Alexander W. Drong,Helen Lockstone,Thomas T. Tapmeier,Karin Hellner,Merli Saare,Triin Laisk-Podar,Christine Dew,Emily Tough,George Nicholson,Maire Peters,Andrew P. Morris,Andrew P. Morris,Cecilia M. Lindgren,Christian M. Becker,Krina T. Zondervan,Krina T. Zondervan +16 more
TL;DR: The sources of DNA methylation and RNA expression profile variability in endometrium, endometriotic disease tissue, and subcutaneous abdominal fat samples from 24 women were investigated, quantifying between-individual, within-tissue (cellular heterogeneity), and technical variation.
