Nano‐hydroxyapatite‐coated PEEK implants: A pilot study in rabbit bone
Sargon Barkarmo,Ann Wennerberg,Ann Wennerberg,Maria Hoffman,Per Kjellin,Karin Breding,Paul Handa,Victoria Franke Stenport +7 more
TL;DR: Higher mean bone-to-implant contact indicated better osseointegration in the coated implants than in the uncoated controls, and the large number of lost implants was interpreted as a lack of primary stability due to implant design.

The biological response to three different nanostructures applied on smooth implant surfaces
TL;DR: The three different CaP coatings with nanostructures on the implant surfaces had enhancing effects on osseointegration, Along with the surface nanotopography, the CaP chemistry might have influenced the biological outcomes.

Adsorption of HSA, IgG and laminin-1 on model hydroxyapatite surfaces – effects of surface characteristics
Ida E. Svendsen,Olga Santos,Javier Sotres,Ann Wennerberg,Karin Breding,Thomas Arnebrant,Liselott Lindh +6 more
TL;DR: The effects observed could be ascribed to differences in surface roughness and chemical composition between the two types of HA substratum, and could have an influence on selection of future implant surface coatings.

Nanostructured coatings on implant surfaces
TL;DR: CaP nanoparticles having different size and morphology were coated onto implants using an immersion technique followed by a short heat treatment to confirm the biological reaction and randomly inserted into the tibia of twelve rabbits for removal torque testing.
