Semiquantification of the peripheral-type benzodiazepine ligand [11C]PK11195 in normal human brain and application in multiple sclerosis patients.
Jan Debruyne,Koen Van Laere,Jan Versijpt,Filip De Vos,Johan Keppens Eng,Karel Strijckmans,Patrick Santens,Eric Achten,Guido Slegers,J Korf,Rudi Dierckx,Jacques De Reuck +11 more
TL;DR: Investigations show that normal brain uptake of [11C]PK11195 is very low and shows the feasibility of a semiquantitative method which can be applied to larger cohorts of patients subgroups.

Differential Regional Cerebral Uptake of 18F-Fluoro-2-Deoxy-D-Glucose in Alzheimer’s Disease and Frontotemporal Dementia at Initial Diagnosis
Patrick Santens,J. De Bleecker,Patrick Goethals,Karel Strijckmans,Ignace Lemahieu,Guido Slegers,R. A. J. O. Dierckx,J. De Reuck +7 more
TL;DR: Cerebral uptake of 18F-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose was studied in a relatively small group of patients suffering from either clinically diagnosed Alzheimer’s disease or frontotemporal dementia during the initial differential diagnostic workup and there was no correlation of medial temporal lobe activity with dementia severity.

Experimental determination of k0, Q0, \bar{E}_{r} factors and neutron cross-sections for 41 isotopes of interest in Neutron Activation Analysis
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors aim at the experimental re-determination of k>>\s of analytical interest for 41 isotopes of interest while introducing a methodology for simultaneous $$ \bar{E}_{r} $$¯¯¯¯ and Q>>\s determination employing N irradiation channels.

Standardization in charged-particle activation-analysis
TL;DR: Several approximate standardization methods that do not require knowledge of the excitation function are compared with the “numerical integration method” using excitationfunction data from the literature and it is shown that these methods yield accurate results if the threshold energy of the considered reaction is high and if sample and standard have a comparable Z value.

Cobalt-55 positron emission tomography in vascular dementia: significance of white matter changes.
TL;DR: 55Co PET shows that the WMCs are due to the ongoing damage of probably ischaemic origin which is more prominent in stroke patients with progressive cognitive decline.
