kHz-order linewidth controllable 1550 nm single-frequency fiber laser for coherent optical communication.
Kaijun Zhou,Qilai Zhao,Xiang Huang,Changsheng Yang,Can Li,Enbo Zhou,Xiaogeng Xu,Kenneth K. Y. Wong,Huihui Cheng,Jiulin Gan,Zhouming Feng,Mingying Peng,Zhongmin Yang,Shanhui Xu +13 more
TL;DR: A kHz-order linewidth controllable 1550 nm single-frequency fiber laser (SFFL) is demonstrated for the first time to the best knowledge and is meaningful and valuable for optimizing the receiver sensitivity and bit error rate (BER) performance of the coherent optical communication system based on high-order quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM).

Influence of Laser Linewidth on Phase-OTDR System Based on Heterodyne Detection
Jiong Li,Zhitao Zhang,Jiulin Gan,Zhang Zhishen,Xiaobao Heng,Kaijun Zhou,Hua Zhao,Shanhui Xu,Zhongmin Yang +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a theoretical analysis of the influence of laser's linewidth on phase-OTDR sensing system is proposed and corresponding experiment is demonstrated, which shows that the detection SNR of the same vibration signal will decrease 4.3 dB.

Short all Tm-doped germanate glass fiber MOPA single-frequency laser at 1.95 μm.
Changsheng Yang,Dan Chen,Shanhui Xu,Huaqiu Deng,Wei Lin,Qilai Zhao,Yuanfei Zhang,Kaijun Zhou,Zhouming Feng,Qi Qian,Zhongmin Yang +10 more
TL;DR: Based on heavily Tm-doped germanate glass fibers (TGFs), a short all-TGF MOPA Laser system with uniform core parameters in each stage was demonstrated and the prospect for further power-scaling of such short MOPA laser is considered.
