The mechanical analysis of interlayer bonding problem of asphalt pavement is performed by the elastic layered system theory or finite element method (FEM); then, a lot of specialized programs based on the above theories emerged successively, of which BISAR30 and EverStressFE are quite representative In order to further clarify the characteristics of BISAR30 and EverStressFE for investigating interlayer bonding problem of asphalt pavement, this paper will carry out a comprehensive comparison from the specific realization viewpoint, such as the principle of interlayer bonding, modeling, calculation processing, and result treatment, and a specific example will be given to compare and analyze their functions The results indicate that the two programs have certain comparability in analyzing the interlayer bonding problem of asphalt pavement, which will contribute to the foundation for the rational selection of asphalt pavement structure mechanical analysis program

Firstly reliability methods used in the analysis by ANSYS including Monte-carlo and response surface methods were introduced.The applied range of the two reliability methods based on ANSYS was pointed out.The common steps for the analysis of reliability by ANSYS were reviewed and an example showed the application of structure reliability analysis by ANSYS.

Structure Reliability Analysis Based on ANSYS

A standard method of squeezing more serviceable years from cracking or rutting asphalt pavement roadways is to lay a new asphalt surface over the old. Such flexible pavement overlays can improve deteriorated pavement and enhance skid resistance, ride quality, and other functional characteristics of the roadway. Pavement rehabilitation is a main active after the highway is accomplished and also has impaction on the high finance and traffic behavior. In the recent years, the volume of traffic has increase greatly, especially in urban area which make a lot of cases of earlier-than-expected failures in highway system. The highway agencies have invested amount of fund on rehabilitation of the highway built in 1990s and 2000s. people still make efforts to develop rehabilitation techniques and procedures making the nation's highway system cost-effective and longer-lasting. In rehabilitation techniques thickness and deflection are main elements of overlay design. There are a lot of researches on the asphalt concrete pavement overlay at home and abroad, but few people concerns about the reliability analysis of asphalt overlay based on finite element. In this paper, typical asphalt pavement overlay structure reliability analysis base on Monte Carlo's Latin hypercube sampling method was performed through which the paper pertinently offered decision basis for improve the reliability of overlay structure and important reference values for drafting and selecting of asphalt pavement overlay design parameters sensitivity analysis of the design parameters is made, at last providing theoretical and design basis for Overlay structure.

The design of asphalt pavements in china is currently based on the multilayered elastic method, which is analytical in nature and yields stresses, strains, and deflections in the pavement system for a particular loading condition and pavement geometry, which are compared with established failure criteria to determine the performance of the given pavement. This design approaches is deterministic. In this paper, typical asphalt pavement structure reliability analysis was performed in which factors that affect pavement reliability regarded as input random , pavement surface deflection, layers of bottom stress and limit state function regarded as output variables , by reliability tool infinite element analysis, base on Monte Carlo’s Latin hypercube sampling method.At last the paper pertinently offered decision basis for improve the reliability of pavement structure and important reference values for drafting and selecting of asphalt pavement design parameters through calculating the reliability of pavement structure, sensitivity analysis of the design parameters is made.
