A new approach for modelling vertical stress distribution at the soil/tyre interface to predict the compaction of cultivated soils by using the PLAXIS code
TL;DR: In this paper, a new approach is proposed to numerically model vertical stress distribution perpendicular to the driving direction at the soil/tyre interface, employing the FEM models of PLAXIS code.

Soil compaction by wheeling: changes in soil suction caused by compression
TL;DR: In this article, a tensiometer was used to measure soil suction in situ for different vertical stresses, and the results showed that the suction remained almost constant until a stress threshold value, σ t, beyond which suction decreased as the stress increased.
Quantifying the effect of matric suction on the compressive properties of two agricultural soils using an osmotic oedometer
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of soil matric suction on the compression index C c, which is one of the mechanical parameters that describes the soil mechanical resistance to compression, was investigated.

TL;DR: In this article, the green clay from Romainville has been studied and the water reten- tion properties were first characterized by simultaneous measurement of gravimetric water content and volume, and the compressibility was then studied by suction con- trolled oedometric test.
