Finding read-once resolution refutations in systems of 2CNF clauses
TL;DR: It is shown that any unsatisfiable 2CNF formula has a refutation, in which any clause needs to be used at most twice, which is surprising, in light of the fact that there exist polynomial time refutation schemes for 2C NF formulas.

A Polynomial Time Algorithm for Read-Once Certification of Linear Infeasibility in UTVPI Constraints
K. Subramani,Piotr Wojciechowki +1 more
TL;DR: The design and analysis of polynomial time algorithms for two problems associated with a linearly infeasible system of Unit Two Variable Per Inequality (UTVPI) constraints, and it is shown that another variant of read-once refutation problem called the non-literal read- once refutation (NLROR) problem is NP-complete in UCSs.

Partial Vertex Cover and Budgeted Maximum Coverage in Bipartite Graphs
TL;DR: Two closely related problems on bipartite graphs, viz., the partial vertex cover problem and the budgeted maximum coverage problem are studied.

Analytical models for risk-based intrusion response
TL;DR: It is posited that it is possible to protect a system by reducing its functionality temporarily when it is under siege, and the algorithmic underpinnings of optimal risk management can be formulated as the Partial Vertex Cover (PVC) problem in bipartite graphs.

Improved algorithms for optimal length resolution refutation in difference constraint systems
TL;DR: Two new strongly polynomial algorithms are proposed which improve on the existing time bound of the OLRR and are superior to the algorithm in Subramani (J Autom Reason 43(2):121–137, 2009).
