Ryutarou Ohbuchi,K. Osada,Takahiko Furuya,T. Banno +3 more
- 04 Jun 2008
TL;DR: A shape-based 3D model retrieval method based on multi-scale local visual features that achieves the performance comparable or superior to some of the most powerful 3D shape retrieval methods.
SHREC’08 entry: Local volumetric features for 3D model retrieval
K. Osada,Takahiko Furuya,Ryutarou Ohbuchi +2 more
- 04 Jun 2008
TL;DR: The method extracts thousands of 3D local features from a model to compare its shape, and shows that the method is quite effective, achieving Means First Tier of 58% for the Query Set 1 of the SHREC'08 Generic Models Track.
SHREC—08 entry: Local 2D visual features for CAD Model retrieval
K. Osada,Takahiko Furuya,Ryutarou Ohbuchi +2 more
- 04 Jun 2008
TL;DR: The evaluation showed that the local, 2D visual features and their integration method based on the bag-of-features approach performed very well, winning the 2nd place in the contest, although it lost to a method that employs supervised learning of classes in the benchmark dataset.
